The ‘25 class will be the OL/DL heavy class. Recruiting OL/DL is a 24 month recruitment. They don’t get into the stroking ego thing like skill positions. They want relationships and see where they fit and if they can be developed. We will get a few this year but expect 4-5 of each next season from high school

It always amazed me how other coaches could negative recruit so well against Malzahn on the offensive line. If you look at the numbers, he probably did as well as anyone in terms of putting out NFL lineman being drafted. The fact that he barely could get a 4 star kid or higher to look at us, but he probably still put out 10-25% of them into the draft. I doubt many teams are putting out drafted Linemen at that percentage when you compare 4 star or higher guys.

They're coming man. The last two classes we've gotten the Lew's and Carter's. Hopefully we can add the Texas A&M kid and the Edwin to complete a good Highschool haul along with a solid Juco OL boost. Another portal lineman after that and we might be back to top half SEC depth again.

I agree with this. I think Freeze can get those guys in the next couple years and be up there again.

Yeah, the OL wasn't nearly as big of a problem as we all thought it would be going into the season. They aren't great, but they aren't the worst in the league like they have been the past 2-3 years.

DL is actually more of a concern for me rn. We have absolutely zero pass rush ability until we start dailing up risky blitzes. And with Harris leaving, who knows who steps in to be the guy in the middle. I think Faulk will be very good, but I think he is either gonna have to bulk up and move inside, or shed some weight to be more effective in pass rush. Hopefully some of the edge guys coming in from HS can quickly make an impact on the pass rush.

If you were an offensive lineman recruit at the game yesterday and you saw Freeze put up 250 rushing yards on the best team against the run in the SEC that has to be persuading.

I was actually looking at the roster yesterday and we have more players who can potentially come back than I realized. McLeod, Rodgers, Jones and a couple others (Maybe a medical redshirt for Kite?) just on the DL. We have to convince them to actually come back though, but add a few more pieces to that and we are ok.

These don't mean shite if we don't load up on some SEC caliber offensive linemen. We have to stock up on the trenches.

I think thats what Edwin was implying the coaches told him, we have everything except.....him.

Doing well so far on the ends of the D-Line with three 4* commits to the 25 class. We desperately need IDL. Where does Autry project? He’s the same size as Faulk.

ETA: just realized Crouwfard is a DT. Nice.

Our WR group is mid-g5 talent. We desperately need talent here. Fairweather has also been a disappointment

Oh I 100% agree. Maybe I should’ve added more to the quote I was referencing (recruiting the trenches).

Fairweather has been okay but he’s been extremely underwhelming the past 2 games save the TD catch against Aggy jr.

We’ll see who’s in our signing class come February. Hopefully our fortunes are better than they were yesterday.

Easy Stidham, did you get back on the sauce? You were tracking pretty good there for a couple of weeks

On3 asked 4* WR Bryce Cain about WR recruiting

quote:

What about the two 5-star targets: Cam Coleman and Ryan Williams? Cain is fairly confident that the Tigers will finish strong.

“Y’all just got to wait and see what’s coming,” Cain said. “I know something but y’all don’t.”

Also said this:

quote:

While Auburn’s offense is dependent on the running game right now, Cain knows what is imminent for when he and the other offensive weapons arrive.

“This gameplan is going to be all most likely passing more than running next year,” Cain said.

Not news but reinforces what we’ve known

Pink/On3 with the quotes

2025 4* QB Atwaan Hill decomits from Deion Sanders. Were we ever interested in him or are our sights set on Montgomery and Macintyre? He has an offer from Monty.
