For the Love of all things Holy. There is no basis in that. Most people that develop mental illnesses like he suffered from start seeing major signs in their early 20’s. I don’t think Mason’s issues were anything related to blows to the head. You should study mental illness before making shite up

Sure coach, running a guy 40 plus times in a game doesnt affect his brain, no science on that whatsoever, why dont you ffffkkin go study it before shooting off your mouth.

Lol Tre Mason ran it 40 times one time- in the SEC championship game against Missouri when he ran for 300 yards. just enjoy the Conference championship. Why cannot you go rewatch that tape. Mason was running at a basketball on grass pace and the defenses were on their heels, not making any blows against Mason.
Mason running 20 times for 69 yards against nobodies in 2012 when Mason refused to quit and fought for the extra yard was just as dangerous for Mason as that game.

Yep, and the dude looks terrible.
For real? He was a pretty good looking kid that looked like he grew up in the suburbs when we recruited him.

Like I said anyone that isn’t familiar with mental illnesses should make themselves aware of them. Not sure why but we live in a country that has a severe mental issue problem.
Like I said Mason’s mental issues had nothing to do with blows to the head.
But like Jang said Mason wasn’t a guy that consistently got blown up running the ball. What made Tre awesome was how he was able to at his size slip the direct hit that’s why he could have a 3 yard run that would finish at 7 yards because he didn’t get hit and dropped it would be they grab his should or hip him on the hip and he slides off to the ground. Obviously every player is gonna take a hit occasionally. If Tre was abused or overused then football needs to just start wearing flags

As far as I know, Mason has never been diagnosed with CTE. And his behavior started after his second season in the NFL, so it's doubtful we can blame it on Auburn even if his problems were due to football.
But I am not so sure his problems were CTE. Sounds more like he had some sort of mental health problem. He ended up going to the CFL like 3 years after the episode. If it was CTE, I doubt doctors would have cleared him for that.

Exactly. Tre’s issues looked nothing like CTE just a mental breakdown like many males in their 20’s go through. It is the prime age for mental illness to appear for men. It sure why but that’s the facts.
Guess dadgum Dye should have saved Bo from being so powerful he separated his own hip. What an ignorant topic when Gus was here and even more ignorant now with him gone

Amon got lit up tonight against Ramsey. Got beat for 3 TDs. Collected multiple PIs. And no not hating on the kid just being real. Love that kid.
In other news not sure the other corner gave up a catch. Sydney Walton. Severely underrated.

Didn't he have surgery for a torn ligament earlier this year? Color me shocked that a kid who hasn't played in months coming off injury didn't play well.
It would be a really bad look if we cut him loose at this point. Every class has guys who aren't destined to be starters.

He’s was back last week and been back to full speed for over a month. It’s not just a one time occurrence. He got torched and Moss’d a couple times in the first 2 games of the season prior to injury as well.
Like I said I love the kid but he ain’t about that Auburn life football. Trust me.
I hope he plays in the UA all American game where everyone can see. I ain’t no hater

Also I’m not saying cut him loose. Just if you look at his ranking you would expect him to be a future starter. I’m not sure he will ever see the field. Hope he fight out because he’s a great athlete just not good at football

We need to build a roadgrader Oline and the 4-5 stars RBs will follow. The Oline has been our weak point for 8 years

quote:Blaming 40 carries in 1 game on someone's mental health issues is nonsense. That said - RBs should top out at 25-30 touches MAX in a game IMO because you flat out can't run nearly has hard/well and fatigue sets in after about 20-25 touches. A lot of people don't realize you generally take ~3 hits every time a RB gets the ball - 2 guys + the ground.

Worst concussions I've had and seen came from the ground and not tacklers - usually taking a hit in a weird way and your head ricocheting off the ground.

Favour Edwin should be our next commit. Thought he was going to announce Thursday , but it still hasn’t happened for some reason.

He had that potential before his injury in HS.
