Will Rogers is a gamer. He’s in a terrible offensive scheme this year. He lead the league in pass yards, and now they barely pass. Maybe he’ll be portal shopping…

There is rumor Spain Park will move to 6A. This is needed. They have the smallest student body in 7A.

Jeez. I could have sworn the Fegans kid a little further up the list was the last one. That family has so many kids.

I have never really watched him. I know he has racked up some yards but yesterday, he looked like he had a arm or shoulder issue. Dude chicken arms his throws.

Is that his normal motion or is he injured?

Everyone sitting in the south end zone needs to show these guys some love as they enter and exit the field and stand on the sidelines.

I found myself feeling sorry for the kid last night. Recruited by Leech. They had to be close. Would be like losing a father figure in a sense.

The OL will be decent next year so it should not be an issue for a transfer QB. The QB portal and closing on Coleman and Willams....what a dance. A portal QB will want to know he has the receivers and the receivers will want to know they have a QB, portal opens the 4th signing day the 20th for HS.

Some say Ryan Williams will wait til Feb so he can take officials since he will be a senior. Ya kiddin me, this guy has been coddled for two years Id think its more likely he wants to see how the QB situation from the portal settles.

Yes he did.

I found that quite impressive, his mentor passed away, nothing to play for, should have probably rested out the season knowing he was hitting the portal, and played anyway. Sounds like someone is gonna get a gamer wherever he goes.

Receivers or not, getting a portal QB is not that easy as we found out last year. Im concerned that we will end up with "just who is available" like we did this year. Or worse, end up with Thorne again next year which will be more pain than most of us can handle.

Portal QBs, and good ones, are not that hard to find. A quick run through of the top 25 shows that roughly half of ranked teams in CFB have portal QBs. There's no reason we can't find a good one if we have something to offer in terms of a supporting cast.

Can Rogers run the RPO? His feet are made of bricks and has -300 career rushing yards but he has put up a lot of yards and TD’s via the Air Raid. This year in a “normal offense” his stats are not as good as Thorne’s. I’d rather have Thorne (in his second season in the system) than Rogers next year honestly but we need to bring in a portal QB no matter what. I just don’t see Roger’s as a huge upgrade. We need to wait to see who enters after the season and go after the best fit - not the first QB to go into the portal.

ETA: Rogers’ best year came in 2021 where he threw the ball 683 times for 4700 yards and 36 TDs. He got those numbers based on sheer volume. Thorne has thrown 222 passes for 1500 yards and 14 TDs. All else equal if Thorne had 666 pass attempts in one year he has 4500 yards and 42 TDs.

They’re actually pretty similar in completion percentage with an edge to Rogers. Thorne averages more YPA on his throws and he is more mobile.
