That wasn’t so much the case back in the early 2000s, there just wasn’t much talent. Northview had maybe 1 guy who was good enough to walk on at Troy. I guess Spencer Pybus came out of there as well - a guy who probably would’ve benefited from not ending up at Auburn.

Recollecting, Dothan High had a receiver named Larry Brackins who was a monster, but academically wasn’t ever an option. He spent his whole college time at the JUCO level and got drafted, had a cup of coffee in the league.

It looks alright right now but we lose Hooks, Shorter, Fairweather and Mardner (not that he’s done anything) after this year. We have Thompson and Cain incoming with maybe Simmons playing WR as well. That leaves Fair, Brown, Kelly, the Johnsons, Moore, and Burton as the lone returners next year barring any transfers from the group. I’m not sure exactly who we are targeting at WR currently other than Coleman, but I’d say we need at least 1 more WR commit.

I phrased that poorly, rather than room I should have said committed receivers. We could use another and Coleman would obviously be an incredible flip.

But Im just thinking about NIL money, for what you would have to spend to get him you could probably flip two very good OL/DL. And the money is not endless, we will still have to go to the portal to replenish the OL leaving as well as some other spots. And the money is not endless Im certain.

Meh... outside of Fair I haven't been overly impressed with the WRs

Yea, it's pretty telling what our bar has become where people think our WR situation is strong right now.

Sure

My birdie let me know today. We'll see. Birdie is 2 for 2 on flips. 0 for 2 on non committed players.

Ain’t no fricking way that guy is looking at our offense and saying “yea let me go catch one pass for 11 yards a game”

Don’t think he was near the top of our board right now, could be wrong though.
