That’s a crazy list for Samford.

Imagine what UGA game is gonna look like.

It’s time to start cranking the heat up on some of these kids to get in the boat.

Laquon Robinson is a take at this point, sorry we missed on all the other safety targets, but he is a very good one.

Beamon would be huge lift for the DL.

We need another buck, still gonna be very thin there if our current goes pro after this season, Faulk continues to grow, we will have one true freshman again starting next season with some backups.

You did - I'm not saying you're incorrect. I'm laughing at the absurdity of the whole thing.

Any word on how any visits went, or is it still too early?

Does anyone think that having a HS football season thread is a good idea?

I do, especially for AU commits and legit targets. Too much for one person, but we have posters from all over and others like Corch who follow HS football pretty closely who could add a lot and keep it going. I like the idea.

Coleman and the Phenix City kids just seem like they don't like Auburn for whatever reason

Over the years, this has been true of other schools in what used to be (no idea now) our 6A region, including Opelika and Auburn, and growing up in Auburn, I think a lot of it started before and in high school growing up and playing either for or against AHS, or being non-AU fans, especially growing up as Bama fans, and past staffs not really recruiting turf closest to home. Corey Grant is a good example. Tez Doolittle was a good get out of Opelika.

AHS alums to the NFL:

DeMarcus Ware & Osi Umenyiora (both to Troy), Cody Core (Ole Miss), Rashaan Evans (frick him and his dad), Radio doesn't really count as he moved into Auburn and was a head case anyway. Both told AU to frick off and went to bammer.

Only Marcus Washington stayed home. Great kid. Didn't really recruit John Sullen that hard but we offered and he stayed.

I had sauces - Mom taught half these kids (and their relatives) but has been retired for a while, FWIW. And this: AHS Alums to NFL

We haven't done badly in the same area outside of old 6A, in smaller classifications. Boobie Whitlow from Lanett and a few from Loachapoka (Montavious Pitts, I think), Smiths Station, Valley, etc. Names escape me at the moment.

I'm sure much has changed recently, especially with NIL, Auburn's growth and AHS' success. I always wanted more AHS kids to go to AU. Pat Dye Jr., award winning author Ace Atkins did. Punter Skip Johnston (of J&M). Anyone remember Win Lyle? Kicker U goes way back.

‘25 UR OT Tavaris Dice visited for Samford and was impressed. Said he’s coming back with friends and family this season

He’s a Langston Hughes kid. Offers from LSU, UGA, Tennessee, and UF so far. Probably a 4* by summer

‘25 4* DL Jourdin Crawford visited for Samford and will be back for UGA. Says he hears from Auburn about every day. He’s from Parker in Birmingham

His teammate is 5* DB Na'eem Offord. Also visited for Samford and says he’ll be back for UGA and Bama. Etheridge has done a really good job in this kid’s recruitment it sounds like

The HS switch was more alarming, but I’m not sure how common that is nowadays

After Gatewood I don't want any QBs that don't look awesome in HS. It's hard for me to be pumped for a dude struggling or being unable to secure a job at the lowest level of football. We made the right choice

Him transferring is part of the rough start lol. Lots of red flags with him. He's got potential too, but a long way to go.

I've heard he tried to commit a little while back and The Staff didn't take it, I believe he is about #4 or #5 down the list for 2025.
