Was at lunch today with brother and sister in laws, and watched Buffalo vs. Las Vegas. I don't have much interest in or attachment to the NFL, but I have to say the game viewing experience is much better than college. There was just a lot more time viewing the game uninterrupted without a string of commercials everywhere for any excuse.

There was a point in the chiefs vs jags game that I felt like I had no idea what was going on because of the commercial breaks

That said, the commercial breaks across the board are wild IMO

Guess they all aren't the same. Makes me wonder who sets the policy?

The Buffalo/Las Vegas game is the first I've seen in ages, but there were no commercial breaks that disturbed the flow of the game. Time outs, quarter changes, and injury breaks mostly, maybe after a score, but not when possession changes or randomly in the middle of play.

On a busy Saturday, I can watch a few games by channel hopping around the commercials for those games I have at least marginal interest in. However, it damned hard to sit through a game from end to end other than Auburn playing due to commercial clutter.

College has more meaning for me. I guess it is because I care so much more.

When I watch the NFL, the first thing I notice is the execution is so much better and it is very violent. Hell, I dont know how any player makes it through a year

NFL is much better product, but college still offers a lot the NFL doesn’t have

I cannot say I have watched a whole lot of NFL, but the college game is okay. NFL games often feels rigged.

I agree. College just has the refs helping teams but I can’t make myself believe the NFL isn’t rigged now. Maybe it’s my love for Auburn but I’m surprise myself with how little the NFL interests me as much as I am into all college football. Not just Auburn

The only way to watch Sunday afternoon NFL games is on RedZone. My son bought the package on YouTube TV at a huge discount because he's a college student. Watched it all for about an hour today. So good. College needs this.

College used to have ESPN Goal Line that was similar to RedZone but they had to get rid of it. Redzone can do what it does because all the TV Deals go through the NFL. College, you'd have to go through the conferences, large and small tv networks. Sucks, it would be cool.

I'm from Buffalo, obvious Bills fan. The last few years have helped me through the Auburn ones, when Auburn used to help me through the bad Bills years (decades). Both teams have a lot of voodoo and heartbreak in common.

Pretty sure the only reason it works for the NFL is fantasy. It’s really the only reason I watch Redzone. It probably would not hold my interest other wise.

Without fantasy though, I have no reason to care. I’ve never really been able to get into a team. Tried the Titans with their Super Bowl run in 2000 but I flamed out. Tried the Falcons when they had Vick. Flamed out again.

Over the last few years I’ve just gotten sucked into excellent QB play. Probably started with fantasy but I’ve gotten to where I love watching guys like Mahomes, Allen, Rodgers, and Herbert play so now I just kind of enjoy the league more overall

NFL is fun. I’m a Raiders fan, but a very casual fan. Just enjoy the games and it’s easier to enjoy it for what it is when you’re not so vested like I am with Auburn.

And yes, Redzone is the way. Commercial free football all day long. Have become a much bigger fan since Redzone.

There are advantages to both. I hate the random, biased NCAA enforcement, probations, etc. The talent level of the NFL is off the charts. You have to have a team you watch and pull for.

College has the passion of the players and fans. It is my school because I have a connection (Alumni).

Both are shared experiences and why not enjoy both.

NIL and loose transfer rules are killing that.

Same for me. I watched NFL many years ago then quit for a long time. I have started back the last 5 years and really enjoy the execution of it. In a way I love to hate on sone of the players due to them being basic dumbasses but there is no denying the talent and execution.

For me, everything in the NFL is just so much more crisp and generally there is more parity. Games are often won or lost by one team having a slight advantage they exploit or slight outplays.

In college, everything is less precise and ability gaps are wider. I enjoy the fact that it's a little less polished as the randomness makes the games really interesting/exciting.

What I really like about the Bills game, was that the flow of the game watching experience was not constantly interrupted by the same repeat commercials. It was much better for following the game. There were still commercials, but they didn't interrupt the flow of the game viewing experience like so many college games.

Maybe that game had a bigger audience so it didn't need to hammer home so many commercials at game viewing expense.
