Well it would explain why naming Steele wouldn't be announced before letter of intent day.
It could. Another explanation is that we haven’t offered Steele at all. It’s more plausible to me that we offered Cristobal and haven’t announced because of the PAC-12 championship. It would explain why he hasn’t signed an extension also.

I don’t see why Oregon sites would have rumors about us offering Cristobal unless it really happened

Ron says that never happened. You have a link that I can show him?

The has been no sediment from any of the Auburn community that this would be accepted. No one has ever said, we want Steele.
If you are trying to fix apathy in your program by firing a decent coach, but stale. You DO NOT hire a assistant AARP member coordinator who has one of the most ridiculous HC records in America.
Well, I guess hiring Steele would fix apathy. No one would be apathetic, they'd be pissed.
Yeah, that's how you turn Jordan Hare into a ghost town.

Just want to say if we fired Gus to promote Steele then our BOT is just stupid and tone deaf. I do not support.
You're already going to have an issue of putting Resumes up against Gus and say you found a better coach but Steele definitely isn't the change we need.

I am legit quitting AU football if true

I seriously cannot even believe that this situation was even plausible to some. Kevin Steele being hired as HC will absolutely kill Auburn football as a program.
I just refuse to believe this is even a slight possibility. If they hire that guy I will melt so damn hard. I know it is just a drop in the bucket in the big picture, but they won't ever get another penny from my piggy bank either. This just cannot happen.

Anyone get the feeling we should know by Saturday?

Hope everyone enjoys those 2/3 star linemen

I think Sunday is the day.
I doubt they announce our new coach and take away from the SEC title game on Saturday.

Why? They definitely should. Let us have some spotlight.
Unless it's Steele.....
Then announce it about 11:30 pm on Sunday night.

Yes if it's Cristobal. Saturday, Sunday, or Monday

I mean, it would ruin any change of getting a good coach once we fired him.
No way that happens. If so, I will LOL

Not for Steele. So throw away 20 plus million for the same staff minus the head coach. Sounds like a high school coaching change.
