National Championship claim discussion again.

What years are y'all in favor for?
Looks like we're going to claim 1913, 1983, and 1993 (recognized by the NCAA)And thinking about claiming 1910, 1914, 1958, and 2004.
I'm in favor of 1913, and 1983. But I don't like claiming '93. I'll go for '58 and '04 too. Don't know enough about '10 and '14 to make a call.

Agreed. Claiming championships retroactively is just so damn bammerish. Yeah, I know, other schools have done it, I just don't see any upside to doing it.

If the title is seen as legit, I don't see the problem in claiming it. The problem everybody has with Bama is they claimed some they aren't even close to legit.

I'm fine with it. Its all a show anyways right now.
Really pissed we didn't win last year, then we'd have 1913, 1983, 1993 and 2013.
I don't think we should claim 93 since we were on probation, but the NCAA does recognize it already, so why shouldn't we claim it?
2004 is one that I would like us to claim, just bc USC got stripped and we should've been in that game to begin with. (this stance is more of me being an AU fan than me having some sort of logic involved in claiming this).

Seen as legit by whom? 1983 and 2004 were both teams that got "robbed", but who considers them the true NC? The NY Times declared Auburn the NC for 83 and the 2004 team wasn't declared NC's by anyone with any weight if I remember collectively.
I feel that claiming questionable national championships dilutes the accomplishment and importance of the bona fide one's (2010 1957). That being said, if the athletic department decides to claim them, I'm not going to throw a fit.

1993 would be a huge mistake to claim IMO. I'm fine with '83 (because of obvious robbery/chicanery) and '14 because no one really cares about pre-1950.

Georgia claims two consensus and acknowledges 3 more.
That would be OK by me. Using that i would claim 2 and acknowledge any other claims.

Is that like being committed to a school, but still keeping your options open and looking around?
I'm fine with 1914, but not 93. I don't know how you can claim a NC when you were on serious probation. 2004 gets a no from me, as much as I'd like to able to claim two in the last 10 years. And I'm on the fence about 83. I don't really have a problem with it, because everyone outside of Miami, Fl can see how we should have had a split NC, if not the whole thing, but it's still tough for me to get behind claiming one in the modern day era that we weren't really awarded. We've got a better claim to 83 then 93, imo.

This, but tbh I really only care about ones that I have lived through and furthermore, ones I was a fan of football during. I do care about the incredible athletes that were a part of the program and the great stories, but a NC over half a century ago rings hollow for me.
So for me, keep the 2 we recognize and build from here.

I think we need to claim the 1913. Other than that though, I don't think we deserve more. I think we should claim other years because frick everyone else
