2013 was worse. Before the season I had put $1000 on AU to win it all and was a few seconds away from winning around 30k.

It hurt a lot already. The money just made it worse.

You put $1000 down on a team coming off a 3-9 season at only 30:1 odds?

A couple people in my family go to Vegas every year to do it. I've done it every year since I started working. 2013 was the first year i had any disposable income to put down a grand.

2013 was worse b/c it WAS the National Championship game we lost in the last 13 seconds.

This game was a SEMI- Final game, so even if we win, we don't know if we win Monday night.
If this had been the Finals, THIS would have been worse, bc of how many games it takes to even get here.

Having paid to go cross country and watch us lose in Pasadena...I felt worse sitting at a Buffalo Wild Wings last night watching Guy hit free throws.

Football team lost that game, no referee interference required. Giving up the kickoff TD, allowing the long march to seal the game and the TD at the end. We had our chances to win.

And we had our chances to win last night (make a free throw, don’t foul, less turnovers), but we also HAD the game won and referees directly impacted the outcome and robbed us at the end. And I personally pulled harder and was more invested in our constantly overlooked, undersized basketball team than I did for the freak athlete Nick Marshall and his crew of offensive onslaught.

It hurts but I feel for the players bc we’ll never see a run like that. The most amazing thing I’ve personally witnessed outside of Cam Newton.

I agree.

Loss yesterday against Virginia to me might not even be in the top 5 “most painful losses.”

1. Florida State - 2013
2. Van Kiffin field goal
3. LSU last second touchdown pass instead of kicking field goal - 2005

Call me a “Football School” homer, but just participating in Final Four was great and never expected.

In football, I expect Auburn to win every game against any opponent anywhere or die trying.

War Eagle!

No, FSU loss is tops for me, but this loss to UVA is not far behind.

It's even worse now that I've thought about it more. I think Auburn is a better team than UVA then on top of that, the refs took it. Their whole offense is predicated around off the ball moving screens. It's infuriating to watch because they just do it so much that they never call it.

Diakite moved on half of his screens.

I wanted to throw something at the tv when they had the ball. A lot of times our guys looked like they were clueless, but they had just been taken out by Sisqo sliding all over the court with no whistle ever heard.

Yep. We got robbed but had several chances to win the game earlier. I'm pretty much over it. Everyone in the country saw what happened.

We were fortunate to survive round 1 against NMS.

Hell of a year. I probably won't watch the Natty. But here's to hoping Virginia loses by 20

It's legit called the blocker mover offense

Their defense principles also use the arm bar off ball in a questionable way too

I can see why. I don't watch their games because they're boring as shite. This is really the first time I've paid any attention to what they do offensively. I have no idea how any of that is legal.

While technically not an in game loss getting screwed out of the 1983 Championship in football. Being #3 and winning the Sugar Bowl and then being leaped over in the polls was a gut shot.

We'll see if I'm still feeling this 4-5 years later like I was with the FSU loss.

Every time I think about Anfernee whispering "For Chuma" and knocking down those 2 free throws at the end I feel a pang of sadness for this team.
