So why don't we all just have a drink and calm the frick down.
Some of us are tired of consistently losing to LSU, Georgia and Alabama every year.
It’d be something if Gus’ offense was the reason for success, but it’s the exact opposite. Gus is riding the coattails of Kevin Steele and his fantastic defense. Year in, year out...the defense carries the team while the offense can’t get out of its own way.

I remember the good old days when Gus’s offense was carrying the defense around.

I do, too. And, IIRC, nobody wanted him fired for it. We all just wanted a DC worth a shite.
Like I said, if Auburn was hanging 50 points a game, or just playing like they did in 2013 and 2014, nobody would be wanting Gus fired. They would want a change on defense.

Our records against LSU, Alabama, and Georgia since Malzahn took over just are not acceptable.
I get that those teams are good and the schedule is tough, but we should be saying the same thing about our squad. That Auburn is good and Auburn is the reason that those teams might not meet their goals. Truthfully it just feels like our program has fallen behind all three of those programs by a good amount and the results on the field support that position.

I remember fans bitching that Gus' offense was hampering the defense by not giving them enough rest between series. We have come full circle. Same tired defense, but for different reasons.

This is worded better than I have attempted.
The "but but Alabama Georgia Florida and LSU are better than us" argument is fricking stupid because that's the God damn point.
They're better than us. I want to be better than them. frick them.

At least, as good.
We literally either have to play over our heads, or they have to screw up, for us to win. Kick 6 game was the only time I remember Gus out coaching them. UGA should have won that year, but for the miracle.
Has it been said yet? Gus is not a good football coach.

I get the frustration.
But, if we are being honest, @ LSU has been death for us going on 20 years.
And Al and GA are still on deck.
I may well be with you after those games, but I tend to disagree with others here. First, I think Nix is missing a lot of plays and passes but he has faced two hostile environments as a freshmen most would never encounter. Our remaining big games will be at home.
I like our chances.
That being said, I am still with you about the offense. IT is beyond messed up that the strength of the team is defense.
This team, contrary to what a lot of people are saying still has a lot to play for, and I for one, am damn proud of a team (esp the defense) that never gave up no matter how many times the offense left them in a bad spot.

the offense can’t get out of its own way.
It's more like Gus can't get out th'offense's way and thar's no telling how many of his players know this, just like Nick Marshall knew it when he called his own play in th'Prayer n'Jurdin Hayer. To bust arse all the time, only to see it misused, must truly take a toll on an offense's psyche.
Please don't blame the players when a great deal of the fault is at the top.
