Kevin Steele does not need to be a candidate

He turns 64 in March. Even if he’s successful in rebuilding us, it’s going to take 3-4 years to get Auburn to contender status again. By that point he’s in his late 60s and not far off from retirement. We’d only be getting him for a handful of years and then we’re doing the coaching search all over again. It makes no sense at all.

Bill Obrien would be a better option if an older coach is a want.

This shitshow has no brakes! GTF on board......

Steele brings nothing to the table that another coach couldn't.

He's going to be at the top of the list. Do you even Auburn bro?

I don’t think he was a serious candidate last year. I think that was all misinformation.

The PTB were mad they were bypassed by Greene and didn't get Steele installed. There's about a 90% chance he will be our next HC. We'll look at last season as the good old days by time Steele is done.

I think everyone can agree on that.

I wouldn't be opposed to Steele if he brought in some good coordinators and helped with the defense. I know there's better options but at this point we aren't getting them.

As shitty as it sounds Steele would’ve had better results and recruits than that shitshow last year. Whole staff would’ve been intact plus Bobo.
This is not an endorsement for next year.

Surround him with recruiters, he won't meddle in the offense, he rebuilds and stocks the pantry. I'm not on board with it, but if that's the worst option to weather a shite storm I won't burn my Auburn gear...yet

We have to have someone ready to go, right?

You would think, which means we probably don't. Hopefully these dumbasses are ready to spare no expense on the new staff, which means they will go cheap.
Surely if they didn't like Harsin's plan they have a better one right?

Took a horrendous Baylor program and damn near killed it

Well, he's consistent at least.

Asking him to take over in an interim fashion at Auburn is much different than asking him to start from scratch at perennial doormat, Baylor.
