Auburn’s Jovon Robinson dismissed from team for missing classes/meetings & “continued inattention to detail in everything” source told @ESPN

If true, oh well.

Hate it for Jovon but he was given plenty of chances. It's always sad to see guys like him, with all the talent in the world, just throw it away.

I hate to lose any good football player, but team cancers need to go. It has always seemed that Jovon feels entitled. There sometimes comes a time when enough is enough. This will send a message to the entire team. Good for Gus!

ETA Gus isn't going anywhere.....unless he loses the team.

Here's what Brandon Marcello had to say about Jovon

quote:

He was never with the program. From the moment he stepped on campus he felt like he was above it all. He never meshed with the coaches, either, and the coaches didn't appreciate his lack of attention in the meeting room and classroom. It was an issue last summer and it continued this offseason.

He went from four months away from the NFL to ... this. Amazing.

If true, Gus made the correct call and this shite is over. The man did his job the way I think we all want him to.

Can we all just dry up today and talk some football? We still have a lot of talent and things will work out. No need to act like a bunch of pussies over a kid who sounds like was trouble.

I'm fine now

If that's true about never meshing, I'm surprised we took him not once, but twice

I hope there are no other bad eggs on the team that are going to flip out this season...

Who knows, maybe a Nick Chubb (ESPN 4 star) will come out of one of these guys.

Darren McFadden is about to come out of Kerryon.

Kerryon is about 20 pounds of muscle skinnier than McFadden, but their frames and playing style do remind me of each other

We just booted our best RB for being a self absorbed diva who thought too highly of himself

I doubt the RB who transferred over being above an OMac/Ricardo slot role would have been much better

Is there anyone that posted quality practice notes about the practice not Jovon?

Robinson said there "never was a real relationship between" himself and Malzahn, who has dismissed his team's best offensive player in back-to-back years.

"I don't want to go back and forth," Robinson said. "If he feel(s) like the team is better without me maybe it wasn't meant to be."

"People in the camp always compared me to (Williams)," Robinson said. "Why I don't know.

Robinson told AL.com, "it's nothing about me missing class or not paying attention" and denied being involved in an altercation or failing drug tests.

The only part of what he said that is interesting.
