Bama has a better roster and we have 25 year old zep Jasper starting

It's not on Bruce to an extent
He recruited correct
Our players have not panned out. We just lost two first rounders.
We can't shoot. Not sure what the issue is.

It's unfortunately true. Bruce has missed on some guys recently and I'm worried about Donaldson as well

It’s a lot of things. This program is simply not a reloading program. Alabama has caught some lightning in a bottle like we did last year.
Brighter days are ahead.

This is the worst roster at Auburn he’s had since 2017. Underwhelming at nearly every position.

Yep and very few are. Look at Duke, UK, and UNC. Oats crushed it with this past recruiting class. Other than Sears it seemed like everyone making plays for them were freshmen. He’s gonna have his hands full next year because at least 2 of those freshmen are for sure gone.

Zep does nothing but play defense. Yohan is MIA. Chance is redshirting.
That’s the weakness on this team.
Auburn did a good job of replacing Jabari and Walker, but there’s nothing behind Jaylin, we have 3 others that don’t contribute at all (that we were counting on this year), and we are a very small team.
We also have a bunch of guys that are no threat to score. That’s a problem.

We are especially not a reloading program when we were handicapped recruiting due to NCAA cloud and legit self imposed sanctions for 4 years

I don’t want to see Allen Flanigan, Zep Jasper, Chris Moore or Stretch on this team next year. I realize some graduate anyways, but I’m over them.
Yohan Traore and Chance Westry have a long ways to go.
I think we’re good at the 5 spot, will be good at the 1 spot, but 2-4 are going to HAVE to be rebuilt.

What's the story on this? When he does see the court, it's brief/sloppy/unorganized...
Is he just learning? Seems odd for that highly touted of a recruit to struggle this much.
Don't ever hear rumors of a negative attitude, like he's in Bruce's doghouse or something. It feels like he's hardly discussed at all...he just literally is MIA...easy to forget he's there.

Hasn’t been playing basketball that long. Not sure how many years but I want to say it’s only a handful. He looked great in Israel and against weaker teams but once he got against good competition it became clear the game moves way too fast for him right now.
He’s got the physical tools which is why he was rated so high. Good size, athletic frame, and a decent looking shot for a big man. He is completely lost on defense and any offensive set where he’s not standing in the corner waiting on a kick out 3.
ETA: I’d love to see him be developed for a stretch 5 but that means a lot more will be expected of him on offense and defense when it comes to basketball IQ.

I’d be thrilled to have flanigan back

Too inconsistent, too sloppy with ball handling, too bad with shot selection, etc
Great athlete, can be a really good defender, but it’s time to move on.

He did a great job on Miller today. Now I don’t think he our starting 3, ideally, but would love to have him as backup 3 and maybe super sub off the bench

Ultimately, you have to make baskets.

Scoper, I love Bruce to death.
I don’t want to hear anti-Bruce talk.
He’s not some God. He’s not a robot. He puts his teams out there and sometimes they don’t work out. This year didn’t work out. But he knows what he’s doing and he will get us rolling again.
Scoper, your thread is the official Bruce ball thread. Let us know if you are too ashamed…

NIL hurt a lot as well. Just think of Scoot Henderson didn't go to the G League and came to Auburn.
I do hope Bruce goes out and drops some NIL on whoever leads the NCAA in 3pt%, don't care where they are at.
