And on this trip my youngest informed me he was choosing bammer over AU, JSU, and UAB. And he wants to join a frat. I was like frick my life. lol.

Our 16 year old is dead set on Bama and a career in business, and I’m damned proud of her if she pulls it off.

But she wants to do the sorority thing, and sorority at Bama is fricking INSANE.

She’s colorguard at Trussville now. Pushing her to go Million Dollar Band.

Make sure to get you a "I love Pigeon Forge" t-shirt baw. Everybody is wearing them these days.

I was thinking get the t-shirt with your name airbrushed in huge letters. Is that still a thing, or am I showing my age?

Well stepson so I am second dad. Now you can’t get a closer relationship than I do with him but I let my kids make their own decisions about school.

Might be like a portal kid he might get down there and hate it and transfer to AU. He definitely has a lot more friends and spent more time at Auburn. His cousin that is a year older transferred or is transferring from Bama to AU now in between semesters.

My oldest is a proud Barner like me when it comes to her Fandom. But she is dead set on going to Bama for school. She wants to be a lawyer. She is only 12, so plenty if time to change her mind but for the past 2 years she has been dead set on becoming an attorney and wanting to go to Bama. Her 2nd choice is the University of Chicago

Like I said, she has 7 or 8 years for me to change her mind.

I won’t be heartbroken over it. We joke but Bama is a great school for business or law. Plus they admit FAR more readily than AU and help more regarding financial aid. I didn’t realize how got danged stingy Auburn is right now until we went through it with our oldest who’s currently at UAB.

But the sorority thing was a shocker. The dues there compared to any other school are ridiculous to the point of parody. We put the kibosh on that. If she wants to do something that will help with her social life and networking, then she needs to do the million dollar band.

I’m pretty sure Daytona, Myrtle Beach and Panama City are the only last known vestiges keeping that particular art-form from becoming completely extinct.

I’ve still got a Dead shirt from that head shop on the west end of PCB, the Joint.

Ah the nostalgia. The redneck riviera was fun for a 90s kid.

AU hasn’t offered my son anything yet. So it’s a pretty easy choice for him so far.

They were late with Ava too. VERY late. Like we already had the ball rolling and were very far along with UAB.

Of course she was always going to UAB since her preferred major is immunology and she wants to be an MD.

My oldest had a full scholarship at Bama but in the end went to Auburn. I would love to say that makes him a true Auburn man but he was just following a young lady around.

You are not true southern white trash until you have had your name airbrushed on a t-shirt

And you have to wear it while driving your late 80s IROC Z-28 Camaro.
