There are built in exceptions however i vehemently disagree with what the frick is going on right now. And since this is not the poli board I wont share those thoughts in their entirety but will add that our freedoms are being trampled on and the majority are acquiescing in disgusting fashion

The burden is on the gvmt to prove without a doubt that the taking away of constitutional rights is necessary to keep the population safe.

A lot of what the govts are doing is an overreach and the ACLU should have enough caseload to stay busy for the next few years over the pandemic. The shouting down of pastors from their pulpit being followed by rooting on thousands of teenage “peaceful” protesters showed me the pandemic is agenda motivated. Not all of it. But there is definite political energy attached to benefit the interests of both sides. Did the Republicans really try to attach billions of dollars in defense spending for the stimulus bill? Fighter jets and attack helicopters aren’t going to fix the pandemic. Both sides are guilty.

I expect downvotes from both sides of the aisle.

I think asking people to wear a mask (not many governments are actually enforcing that "mandate") is pretty low on the spectrum of trampling on freedoms.

There's no law cancelling football. That was a decision made by administrators of the schools. Are you talking about the media blowing this thing out of proportion?

I think that there is definitely hypocrisy in how people are criticized for what they do during this thing. But the idea that the seriousness of the virus is some sort of vast conspiracy is absurd to me. I just don't buy it.

The virus is real. No doubt. It won’t stop after the election either. My wife sells ventilators for a living as of last month and she is making bank right now. Hospitals are already venturing into renting ventilators as well. They’re trying to get ready.

I agree. I am tired of seeing grown up politicians whine about what the other side is adding to their bills when they both do it.

It is broken in DC and there needs to be a centrist group that needs to take control and show how 'compromise' really works.

It won't get any better in Nov. Both sides have super flawed candidates.

She started off in the money for sure. She did respiratory therapy for nearly a decade and knows most of the pulmonologists in NE Alabama from Anniston to Birmingham so she’s not having problems getting referrals atm. I kinda figured she’d do well in this field for a while though; otherwise I wouldn’t like her changing jobs during these times.

The problem is that people spout off half assed scientific-sounding arguments like the one you've just made that are full of holes (no pun intended), which then get passed around as fact. It just contributes to the absurdity of it all.

It's been disappointing to me that my beloved Auburn Board, home of the Von Mises Institute, isn't the libertarian bastion of freedom that I had hoped it'd be.

.83% of 30K Alabama students tested positive for a virus that less than 1% of those will die from (roughly 3 people). SHUT IT DOWN.

Exactly

I know of only one person personally whose daughter had covid with flu like issues and now fine. Out of my large family and my wife’s large family, our friends and acquaintances, our church, and work , I don’t know another person who has tested positive. None of means I don’t believe it exists by the way.

What I have seen personally is my business owner friends who have lost their business and two others who have lost a lot of built up savings to keep what they have. Businesses being fined, yet crowds every day at big box stores, which is fine with me. It’s nuts watching people handing over their freedoms with little to no objections, but calling out others who do question and object. Crazy times

Then dispute my facts with the holes in them with your own. My facts come directly from the CDC and their website. You can see in the same chart Total deaths Covid deaths pneumonia deaths flu deaths. Instead of just believing what you are told go check it out. and guess what even the age groups are broken down to the stats I provided. If you have trouble finding junior let me know and I’ll get you a link. I’m trying to learn you baws a few old tricks around here.

To those that question constitutional validity to churches and such that I mentioned. The bill of rights are granted by God, or the creator, and not by man or government. Therefore there can be no mandate or law that interferes with those rights. PERIOD!!

Technically... he gave us COVID and closed his churches. Higher power, greater plan, and whatnot.

Our primary source of income is the small business that my wife owns and runs. I could spend hours on this topic and have been pretty vocal about it here. We have been fortunate thus far, but we know many people that haven't been. Market a couple of weeks ago was very sad.

No, it's a way to say I deal with some of the impacts of this in what I do every day and feel the need to call it out when I see it. The results of that trade deal are not as rosy at the admin would like you to believe.

Do I think China has been transparent in where this thing came from? No. But that doesn't mean that this trade deal had anything to do with that.
