The dumbest thing Gus ever did was discuss playcalling responsibilities with the media. He gets killed for it and he just continues to do it...

He is so buttoned up about everything, but he loves to announce when he is calling plays or when it has been delegated in the past. Weird...

Who called the second half of the LSU game in 2017? I believe it was Chip, terrible, just terrible. (I am sure Gus was meddling, but Head Coaches do that)

I probably wouldn't want Morris calling plays during the bowl game anyways. He doesn't know our team yet.

Remember when Tony Franklin was our OC for the CFA Bowl in '07?

I just hope that Chad Morris will start watering the route trees so that maybe by next fall, the route tree branches will flourish.

I don't have time to look it up, but there was an article about that game. We ran 17 1st down RPO's in the 2nd half and 11 times Stidham gave the ball to 80% healthy KJ and it was the wrong read each time or something of that nature. I always believed that film allowed Stidham to realize the options of the RPO's better and likely helped with the late seasons success that year.

I remember seeing Kodi run for the game-winning score in OT from the shotgun and thinking, "man, we're gonna be something special on offense next year!"

Just like that, Auburn may have found its next starting quarterback.

"He'll go in as No. 1," Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville said. "He's earned that. He's a gamer. You look at him on the sideline and he looks like a third- or fourth-year player."

I mean, why wouldn't you? It was a logical thing to think. Who knew Armageddon was about to be upon us.

I hope Kodi Burns learned something from Joe Brady and he's going to work the shite out of those receivers in catching drills this summer. LSU's guys never dropped the ball

From Chayil Garnett:

quote:

“He’s a great coach,” Garnett says. “He’s coached greats, Deshaun Watson and Tajh Boyd. He came to my house. We had a good talk with him and my family. He has experience. As Coach Malzahn has been telling me, it gives him a chance to step back.

It's really the perfect situation for what Gus wants, I think. Opinion: He wants his offense to be implemented and he wants to be able to see the bigger picture on offense while doing so (i.e., not getting caught in the minutia of play-call to play-call). Morris is the closest thing to Rhett to being able to do that and Morris has more experience than Rhett. Should be interesting to see it unfold next season.

Thanks. I think the Bo Nix hype next year may actually have legs thanks to Morris’s passing wrinkles coming in.
