Yes because rules are now preventing teams from filling in needs every offseason? Are you out of your mind?

Freeze might not need to win a championship soon, but we’re a blue blood SEC program with one of the biggest NIL funds in football. 7 wins is a stupid low expectation reserved for Miss St.

Wise words.

Freeze has not had much to work with since he has been at Auburn. Look at the NFL draft the past few years our roster was full of future high school coaches (nothing wrong with this it’s what I do) playing against future NFL players.

The future NFL players on the Auburn roster last season were very young and needed time to develop into SEC players.

The only way out of the potato famine is to recruit our way out and that’s exactly what Freeze has done. Has every game gone the way I wanted, No, but Freeze has us on schedule and he’s doing what needs to be done to make Auburn competitive.

That being said, Freeze is correct not winning 6 games next year would lead to his firing because that means we are losing to less talented teams.

When Freeze was hired I said “Let him recruit and let him work for four seasons. If after his fourth season Auburn is not on track to where we want to be then evaluate Freeze.”

Freeze has done nothing to change my feeling in fact I think he has us going in the right direction.

If we beat Georgia or an 8-4 Bama, some drunk rich guy will overpay Sexton.

It’s science.

Any man with a pulse could win 6 games at Auburn with a decent high school staff.

CHF is not under contract to beat East State, West Tech, and Away U, then bounce into a couple of down SEC teams and get a fluke close win to go 6-6 and head to Birmingham to lose to 8-4 SunBelt/C-USA team.

He’s being paid to make the playoffs or at least be in the discussion in mid November.

If not, we will pay someone else.

Listen to the interview. He didn't say the goal was a bowl game. He was saying Auburn's floor is being bowl eligible and we didn't do that last year so he didn't get the job done. Context matters

This thread is what sparked me making the "How many years left does Freeze have at Auburn?"

Because this ain't the right mentality for our head coach to have.

This thread is a perfect example out how quickly our fanbase blows things out of proportion.

For how much people usually try and shite on Hugh for never taking accountability for stuff, the fact he does so here and there is still this type of reaction is more telling that it won't matter what he does, it won't be good enough to that sect of our fanbase.

Nobody was going to hire Hugh away from Liberty, but we paid like he was in demand on his first contract. We'll certainly over pay if he gets another.

I never imagined anything greater than 9 wins with Freeze.

I'll leave it at that.

No because regardless, going from sub .500 to 10+ is a rarity

I appreciate that he is saying what needs to happen and having some accountability.

What does he do right after? Started talking about the situation he walked into a few years ago. I don’t care if it was the worst Auburn roster ever and no one could win with them, it’s year 3, why keep bringing it up? We don’t want to hear excuses.

Kind of proving my point here.

quote:

And then right after this, he takes more accountability for losing games the we could have and recognizing the need to clean things up that cost us, that wasn't talent based.

His answer was beyond reasonable to the question asked, especially since part of what you are taking exception to is largely him explaining why he isn't feeling any just immense pressure from the administration.

We don’t want to hear excuses.

This sect doesn't want to hear honest answers either, apparently

We have a constant sect of fans that will continue to simp for the Head Coach, until it’s too late. We saw them with Hardin, Gus, etc.
