Y’all are delusional if you’re comparing Ashford and Nix’s passing production in our offense.

Nix as a freshman 217/377 58% 2,542 YDS 16TD 6INT
Ashford 123/250 49% 1,613 YDS 7 TD 7 INT

Different offense. Probably better line.....but Nix was better as a freshman though.

Not to mention Nix was 18 and Ashford is probably already 21.

I knew that argument would come up.

Nix’s numbers his last year here with the same offense and same exact offensive line are better than the numbers I showed you.

197/323 61% 2294 11 TDs 3 INT

The delusion around Nix will always exist. Nix was fine at Auburn but his help wasn’t.

It is obvious when he was on a team better suited for a QB his numbers exploded.

The thing is Ashford left from that QB friendly team because he didn’t measure up.

AUCE says he would be 4th on our depth chart Greygoose wants Finley

Not an argument, just a statement. And I'm not trying to begin a Nix/Ashford debate. I'd rather have Nix. But sharing his numbers from last season isn't fair either. He had become a specialist at running for his life with this line by then lol.

I like Ashford. He has a long way to go before he could be the QB Nix was at any point in his career though, and it’s goofy to suggest otherwise

Ashford deserves the consideration next year by playing hard and not folding when he could’ve.

We are trying to win though so he needs to improve and beat out new competition.

I’m really excited for Holden in this offense. It is great for him.

Ashford will have every opportunity to win the job though. Consistency will be key for him. He needs to learn how to throw routine throws.

I love Ashford's heart but I would love for someone to convince him that he could be the next Percy Harvin.

Freeze will likely bring in other QBs, but I'm actually pretty excited to see what he does with Ashford. Freeze is a creative offensive guy and Ashford has some tools to be dangerous if he can put it all together.

If Freeze can take a guy with almost no offers, Auburn gives him the very last spot on signing day, and turn him into an NFL QB, just imagine what he can do with Ashford. I'm optimistic, to say the least.

Maybe freeze can work his magic and we end up with Marshall 2.0

Trust me when I say, you aren't the only one.

I remember telling my Bammer cousin that the team that put up 44 points in the '14 Iron Bowl was about to have a QB who could really spin it and run just enough to keep the read option viable and would probably put up 60 in '15 at home.

Boy was I wrong.

Same, and then I saw him play Louisville and I knew it was a lie.

That's two in four years. Has that ever happened at Auburn?
