Top 20 overall but bottom half in the SEC.

We know we can’t rely on coaching to win a game here or there so where does that leave us?

Right where we are

Is Golesh Russian for Harsin?

Tell me how much more #4 or #5 spends - that is the real question. "bottom half" is just catchy phrasing. Obviously Texas and A&M will spend more to eternity. we'll see how much longer LSU spends.

We brought in a ton of players this year. Not many with SEC talent. I didn’t expect an 8 win season, but I expected a team that showed signs of being well coached. I am yet to see that.
Did we completely waste NIL on this roster?
We hired an up and comer, just like FLA did. Difference is, we brought in a whole bunch of G5 coaches and G5 players. Our OC is a no name. Our OL coach is a joke. We put in a ton of effort and $$$ to keep Durkin because the dudes calling the shots, made that a requirement of the new coach. Jimmy Rane and the Boys are why we have Cohen as our AD and why we hired Harsin, Freeze, and got stuck with Golesh.

Our problem will always start with the guys calling the real shots.

A&M, TU, LSU,GA, AL, OM, and probably throw in MU.

All have better coaching staffs, so if we can’t outbid them where do we stand??

Crappy coaching. Crappy QB play. Crappy player recruitment and development.

Fans: OMG the offensive line!

Coach and QB are the straws that stir the drink.

Same calls came out last two coaches. So ask yourself, how is this getting any better?

But this doesn't explain everything. Oklahoma State did the exact same thing and they are 3-1 and they beat Oregon. They hired North Texas' coach and he brought all of his North Texas players. So far their offense is scoring just like it was at North Texas. So this strategy is currently working elsewhere. Yes, Ok State is in the Big 12 and not the SEC, but its still a big jump up in competition.

Furthermore, over the last two years most of you couldn't stop talking about how Freeze should have brought in the New Mexico State group of offensive coaches + Pavia + the TE from their G5 roster. Vanderbilt did that, and it worked. So you can't pick and choose based off of hindsight when you think its good to bring in G5 players and coaches, and when its not. Last season most of you didn't want to give any credit whatsoever to Clarke Lea for Vandy's success, it was all the New Mexico State coaches on offense and their G5 QB (Pavia). But now we suck because we have a bunch of G5 coaches on offense?

Unfortunately, its all a coin-flip with regards to who will work at this level, and who wont. Auburn has been in a death spiral where nothing seems to be working. Right now, the biggest miss to me is simply Byrum Brown. You can't do anything on offense with a QB who is turning it over ~3 times a game. He has no consistency whatsoever from play to play, and I can't fathom how you call plays around that. The OL is below-average so that obviously doesn't help either, but at the end of the day your supposed difference maker at QB who knows the system has looked bad.

And that has really been Golesh's biggest blunder in hindsight: he should have evaluated better without bias and let Brown go elsewhere based off of the flaws in his game not translating well to the SEC. But the reality is that most offensive coaches are going to stick with their guy who they have had big success with, and now Golesh is in a really bad spot where his guy is making a shite-ton of money and he likely can't fathom the idea of actually trying to see if T'ia can do any better.

10 - 7 UT in 8:49 in 3Q. Auburn gets the ball.
6 yd pass, 3 yd run, penalty, 8 yd run, 8 yd run, 15 yd run, then a sack.
ball on UT 45.

Then a terrible, horrible interception by a senior QB. Totally his fault.
This will not change. He had sufficient time - just a horrible ball.

That was the play of the game.

the false starts, fielding the ball on 5, the 4th down call, defense whatever, all blips compared to that.
