Or does he go the Jay Jacobs chicken shite route and form a “search committee”

This kind of search committee that promotes Kevin Steele to full time or the kind of search committee that vets out potential candidates and ends up hiring Rhett Lashlee or Chip Lindsay.

Considering the timing I would imagine we will have a hire with a day or two, so I would think the search committee won’t happen.

I don’t think there’s a committee this time but anyone would be foolish to believe Greene has authority to hire who he wants. Auburn just doesn’t work that way

I wouldn't mind if he put together a group of people that he trusts to advise him, but I want him to be the one to pull the trigger on who HE thinks will win championships at Auburn.

They have to already have an agreement with somebody to pull this off today.

Every important institution in the world has a committee. Some times it’s a board, sometimes it’s a search firm. Singular people never make these decisions alone

Let's be real here, whoever is funding the $20m + new coach salary is making this hire.

No person/groups of people putting together$20m+ are going to not be involved with what their $ is buying

Yep. Anybody that doesn't think this is what is happening, is very naïve.

They already have a replacement. They wouldn't have pulled the trigger if they didn't

Can someone tell me how it would work with Oregon playing on Saturday? Would Mario still coach the game, or would he leave before then?

The folks that think ADs make the head football coach hires at places like Auburn make me laugh.

Allen Greene did not want to fire malzahn, will not be making the call on the next head coach and will be moving on from Auburn within the next year

If the President calls for a search committee now, it is because of a power struggle among members of the BOT that is going on.

Politics.

The Search Committee has been in full swing since mid season. The Agents had been told to test the waters and be prepared to act fast when the axe fell.

This team is not as big a mess as one might expect. There will be new coaches, a system similar offensively but with a bigger and more creative playbook.

The recruiters will be boots on the ground immediately. This disaster of a recruiting year cannot be tolerated. There are vast amounts of holes to be filled on both sides of the football.
