Did you know that Clemson Football was basically started by Auburn?

My coworker just told me of this while I'm wearing an Auburn polo. The beginnings of Clemson is due to an Auburn graduate student that was in engineering and played football, but transitioned to only football as a Coach who brough John Heisman to be the head coach. Walter Riggs was this man who then went to Clemson, but brought along some old Auburn Jerseys that were faded, which gave them the purplish color they now call Regalia. He used the Auburn Tigers as his base, for the Clemson Tigers name, but the paw has a cut at angle of 1:00 since football games were played then.
Anyway, I thought that was interesting enough to post

I had always heard the reason they are orange and purple was because they used old Auburn stuff where the blue had faded. Maybe that's in your links.

this is true. the coach that left Auburn took some of the old practice jerseys that had faded.

Interesting enough I just passed Clemson on the interstate about 2 hours ago. I’m in Charlotte for the weekend.

Sorry bro just got back into town before seeing. One of my sons is a horror movie freak and in concord they had a celebrity meet called Mad Monster so. Me and the wife took him before we open up the baseball season tomorrow.
He is trying to get Robert England’s (Freddy Kruger) autograph and a few items signed. This was his 3rd appearance my son has gone to in the past yeat year but never is able to make it all the way through the line. Went to Days of the Dead in Atlanta just a few weeks ago. Went to Lexington Ky in November to try to see him but his staff does a horrible job of line management so he runs out of time. Saturday we were there when the convention opened. We went straight to his line waited in line for and hour and 15 minutes and about 4 people in front of us the staff came and said no one past that person would get to see him that day. So disappointing for my son.
He still got to see plenty of other people. A lot of the actors from American horror story was there. Peter Criss from Kiss. And many others.
I’m not a star struck person. Never have been doubt I ever will be i guess it’s like my wife says I’m to arrogant and feel self important lol.
I did fist bump Lex Luger, Scott Stiener, Ole and Arn Anderson when I past their table. Man Scott Steiner looks terrible I look like a giant standing next to him not in height just in size. And Lex is wheelchair bound. Don’t do steroids my friends.

Yes, Clemson Tigers copied us and stole our colors (mostly). We stole UVA’s colors and they copied the University of Cambridge (England).
