This morning, my friend said he thought it wasn't coincidental that in the current playoff rankings, Auburn happens to be 11 and Bama happens to be 12?? Maybe that's why Bama dropped so far in the rankings, because the committee was dying to put them at 12 as a dig

They need to be lower. Zero top 25 wins.

The committee is trying to deflate LSU and prop up OSU

The above two posts are correct, but maybe the committee just has a sense of humor by putting them at 12...

They are clearly trying to eliminate any chance Georgia has at hanging on to the four depending on what happens.

Some of the shite they did in these rankings is inexplicable.

Which is exactly why the BCS formula should have been used still. Having humans put this together was the dumbest shite ever to start with.

College football is the only industry in the world where the had good technology but decided human mistakes are better

It wasn't perfect. Pure computer polls had strange anomalies.

Needs to be a 8 team playoff. Power 5 win your conference and your automatically in and have 3 at large bids so a team like a undefeated UFC gets in, a one los SEC team etc. Then people will complain about one extra game it adds, well that's a easy fix drop a game on the schedule against a FCS opponent. Who needs to play Samford or Western Carolina anyway?

Based on what? Ohio St is #1 on basically every computer/analytics poll I looked up (Sagarin, Colley, ESPN FPI, Anderson, Massey, Billingsley)

Assuming you mean w/ a loss, there is almost no good argument for a 2L UGA to make it in anyways

I like 8 teams, but 6 may be the way to go (5 conference winners, 1 at large) with the top 2 getting a bye. With a bye week incentive, the end of the regular season would be more meaningful, and teams wouldn't be taking a week off resting players...

This is the only expansion I would like. Otherwise, you'll see the end of the season not mean as much, teams resting starters, etc.

But look at their schedules. Personally I think beating Florida, Auburn, and Alabama is better than beating Wisconsin, Michigan, and Penn State.

Throw in the road game to a Texas team that wasnt deflated and I just dont understand how they justify Ohio State at 1.

The ONLY reason I see Ohio State at 1 over LSU is so the committee can justify leaving LSU out if they lose to UGA in the SEC Championship. Because if 1 loses to 4, its likely a 2 SEC team playoff. If 2 loses to 4, it's a lot easier to justify dropping them to 5.

That's the ONLY reason I can justify them having LSU at 2.

Computer polls do that and believe OSU is better

If this was the BCS system they would be #1 in both computer and human polls

Pretty absurd to argue conspiracy for what the expected result is

It’d not just who you beat... it’s how you look doing it. No body has come close to OSU.... while LSU has three close-ish games — Texas (who is not very good), auburn, and bama.

Ohio State could be the most complete team we’ve seen in college football since 2001 Miami. Bama had great teams in 2011/2012, but they dropped a game in each season. 2009 bama was undefeated, but had some close calls.

Many people said that about FSU in 13 until we should have beat them
