Agree completely and this is what pisses me off the most. We're not in this because of a dumbass booster with low self esteem, where in it due to a former, and famous, AU Player that did it for personal gain.

Take his jersey off the fricking wall.

Arguably the greatest player in program history is about to spend a decade in federal prison for selling out said program...

The more I think about it, the more pathetic it seems.

It makes me sick to my stomach. The fact that he had the nerve to do what he did at AU makes it almost unbelievable. Did he honestly believe he'd never get caught? Was the risk worth it? No sense at all

Yeah... person wasn't a college basketball "lifer" like most assistant coaches... probably made him an easier target.

Bottom line is he was willing to risk everything over a few thousand dollars... it makes no sense.

Should, Direct TV is allowing me to cancel my NFL Sunday ticket over kneeling. I don't see any difference?

80 years? Where did that # come from? He could kill a couple MFers, and do less time!

That's the max penalty based on the degree of the crime but since he's never been in trouble before he won't have near the points to score for 80 years. He MIGHT do 3 to 5 years and then maybe 10 years probation.

So, after reading the document, here's what I've got about the players:

Player 1: Purifoy or Heron
--Met with Person and CW1 in NYC after the Boston College game. Was advised not to tell his sisters, and possibly not his stepfather. Person told him it was illegal, but that's how NBA players do it.
--Met with Person, CW1, Mother and unidentified male believed to be Stepfatheron Dec 18 after a game (I don't see one on the schedule thouugh?). They discussed payments at this meeting.
--Person told CW 1on Jan 10 that Player 1 would be entering the NBA draft after that season (2016-2017, though the player eventually didn't).

Player 2: Purifoy/Heron or Wiley
--Person initially tried to set them up with CW1 and another financial advisor, but the other advisor backed out when payments were brought up (how greedy can you get Chuck?). Person and Mother 2 met with the other advisor, though payments were only discussed between Person and the Advisor.
--Person then set them up with just CW1. Person told Mother 2 over the phone that the payments weren't illegal because CW1 isn't an "agent".

I realize most of this has already been discussed, but I thought it was worth consolidating.

Edit: Thought I'd add the money totals.

Person: $91,500
Mother 1*: $11,000
Mother 2*: $12,500 (Person-$7500, Michel-$5000)

*: I put the astrisk because these are the amounts claimed to have been paid to them by Person and Michel. Wouldn't shock me at all if it was less or none with how greedy these dudes are.

Edit 2: Formatting

It is a damn shame that this kid's career and Auburn's program is in jeopardy over Person needing $60k

His career at Auburn is over because he took money when he absolutely knew it was against every single rule ever.

Persons drew them in but they made the choice to accept the money. They are as much to blame as far as his eligibility goes.

Agreed. But I am more inclined to forgive an 18 year old for making a bad decision.

However, there is no excuse for Person. He just made some bad, greedy decisions. Decisions that are going to effect the kids and Auburn negatively for years to come.

Hopefully the NCAA will have mercy on us. Based on the facts, we received no competitive or recruiting advantage from Person's scheming. He did it for personal gain and simply "tipped" the parents to go along with it and make it look good on his end.
