And coaches are told to not pay anything. You think Wiley was in on the sting?
None of that means shite. Its was said that "Chuck ruined Wiles eligibility". All I said was it was on Wiley. He knows the consequences of taking cash.
I dont care if he called the FBI himself, he took money and was told to be quiet about it. LOL. Im sure it seems legit
He is not the victim . He is a willing participant. As is his family.

It wouldn't surprise me if Wiley didn't know about it. I just wonder how his eligablility would be affected if he didn't
Yea, we are not going to get to use that one again.

Since both of Wiley's parents played ball, you would think he wouldn't be involved. I feel like these situations happen more with players and parents who are unaware and can be easily taken advantage of by promises of money.

I’m confused
quote:
Overreact much? Geez dude, just STFU . Players are taught from day one not to take anything from a agent. Chuck is a POS but Wiley and his family know enough about how this works not to take money from anyone. Don't be a dumbass...

Do you feel like Im wrong about Wiley knowing?
I don't think it matters if Wiley knew or not. Pretty sure they closed that loophole with Cam.

Jesus Christ this is bad. It's one thing to have the NCAA investigate allegations, but when the FBI shows up and slaps the cuffs on an assistant coach and rolls out a list of charges as long as your arm, prep your fricking anus.

Why does anyone even care? Not like we are sniffing the NCAA tourney since Pearl has been here. Yall actually think this year was going to be different?

It’s just more negativity and scandal surrounding our AD. I’m sick of it.

I get this is your shtick, so carry on.

In all seriousness, I'd love to know just what the hell Chuck Person needed 60K for....the affidavit says that Michel knew a coach who needed a loan or something to that affect....
Played 14 years in the nba, currently making 240K, but needs a 60K loan...doesn't add up.

Some people have spending problems

As I read through this affidavit.....I can see no good reason whatsoever why Person isn't immediately canned. Why would we just suspend him without pay....

-Suspended without pay effectively is a firing.

Not just for Auburn and the other teams named, but college basketball as a whole.
I thought it was kind of known that college basketball was shady as hell. I always thought the NCAA was more hands off because of all the tourney money they make, but that is just the point of view of someone who does not follow it closely.

So this can potentially cause downstream problems with other sports if it's an institutional control thing?

Yeah I think this is the procedure for any big time position. It's obvious he's going to be fired but you can't just do it within hours of an arrest.

I don't really know.
An FBI indictment is very serious. I would think the NCAA might be hesitant to get involved while there is discovery -- provided those charged don't initially seek a plea deal.
I assume the arraignment is not too far away, but do not know how long that usually takes.
But, this is one of those things where it could take years, especially given the scope of the inquiry --- it seems like Adidas might be the big fish here?
