Thorton better step it up, but Garrett seems to be doing quite well bringing in talent.

Thorton took chicken shite and make it into some edible chicken tenders this year.
Oline recruiting wasn’t great but neither was the talent in this class. Thorton has done a pretty good job and looks like he will rack up in the 25 class.
On the flip side Ole Miss’s Oline went to complete shite when he left.

You'd be right if you didn't cut off the other half of what I said.
Edit-- I kind of wish we knew what happened with Crime to move off field. If Kelly is still good at recruiting it would make more sense for their roles to be flipped.

Craig didn’t have any issues with Auburn. His issue was with Gus. He doesn’t “trash” Auburn, he literally has his alumni status in all his socials.

No one has gone into detail but it sounds like he and Roberts didn’t see eye to eye on some stuff as far as the defense goes and Roberts has a reputation for being a hard arse. Wouldn’t shock me if things got heated.
Flip side is the word is Crime is pleased with his off the field role, probably way less stressful and time consuming and would like to retire in Auburn.
I think most agree that if we are just bringing in Kelly to be a position coach and giving him the co-DC for pay then this is a great hire. If he’s going to be pretty involved in actually running the defense then I like it less. But if Roberts is as tough as his reputation would have you believe then I doubt that is going to be the case as long as he’s here.
