I’m in this camp as well. Hugh can still be involved in recruiting obviously, but now that he’s spent a year establishing relationships he can dial it back a little and bring in another ace recruiter to pick up his slack.
Pinkston made a good point that most of Auburn’s garbage offensive performances came after a major recruiting week. Hugh said after the game that he didn’t get involved in the game plan until this week because of recruiting.
At some point he’s gonna have to balance those two.

I also would not be surprised if Kelly is going to end up being co-DC with Josh Aldridge. I don’t think Roberts will be back.

It’s all relative to whether it works or not. Someone like Kiffin is never going to give up playcalling because it works. Hugh has a really good track record as a playcaller.

Flip side here is you’re going to be in a cycle of always trying to find the next great playcaller because once the OC has success either another school or the NFL is going to scoop them up.

There are a few coaches that can make lemonade out of bad lemons. But only a few, and only so much.. talent is what makes most coaches look good. Bobo is above average with what he is given.
