At this point he is pretty much going to have to. He's going to be so far behind the PR game he'll be screwed before he starts. If he loses all our talent in the portal and then can't manage 8 wins next year, a ton of people are gonna be out after year one, like yourself.

We'll see how it looks after the portal, but they are going to have to make some major moves to be competitive next year.

Maybe with WRs and that amount of money, AU should go the money ball theory route.

Flame away, and this isn't me defending the new staff at all costs as they have been underwhelming thus far as I reserve judgment, BUT this isn't a huge deal in the grand scheme of things..

A big deal in terms of optics, but this is an offense where 'system' WRs will do well. There is no player who AU has to pay at 'any price', especially at that position and especially when we are not 1 star player from competing for a title. How much value does Coleman really add over an optimal system WR in this offense in terms of NIL dollars (and related opportunity costs)? I bet he lands on a team that will be competing for the NC next year and which is willing to dramatically overspend for a top talent. Auburn doesn't have that luxury.

Bigger picture, this is just another casualty of this terrible 6+ year run of Auburn football. The hope of Freeze's recruiting bought some time, but he ultimately couldn't pay it off so many of those guys are toast. It will be up to Golesh to bring new energy to the program, and it should not be shocking that it may have to come with new guys. This may not be a bad thing, as there is not a winning culture on this team currently.

I do not blame Golesh for Coleman or other departures (yet), assuming he has some plan for the portal moving forward. Too early to say I suppose.

can't say that I blame him, especially if he plans on playing on Sunday.

Last official act as a Tiger.

Fumble to end a comeback drive because no one taught him how to carry a football.

You cant. I would bet he wanted to keep him. Why would he not?

This is on Auburn. Period. Its on them and their terrible decision making and terrible hiring practice

I’m at the point that I don’t give a F, this whole team had a bunch of loser mentality. Good riddance!

If Freeze were still in charge, he would issue a statement saying how close we were to keeping him.

We should sell out hard and blow up college football. I'm afraid that is the only way. With the game the way it is right now, we will not and won't ever compete for a championship at Auburn. Yella fella on the field is just not quite enough. It is hard to hear, but it is absolutely true.

We got ourselves out of the game for 5 years with two jackass coaches. So, now, not only are we going to get beat on $$$, we don't have winning to fall back on. We have sucked! The only way you will get players to Auburn is with $$$. They will not come anymore because we are some powerhouse program, because we are not. That is in the past. People don't want to believe it, but that is where we are.

But there is a way back. Blow it up. Put Coke, Apple, Krispy Kreme, Home Depot, Google, Kraft, etc. all over the endzone, field and uniforms. Sell as much ad space as you can. Then put the word out to every agent, you will beat any offer, no matter what. Then you pick what you want.

Make a damn mockery of it. If Auburn went all in and did this, college football would be scrambling to make changes. Hit them hard and fast now. Shock and awe. I want our uniforms to look like damn Ricky Bobby. Buy a championship! And keep buying them.

And there it is… “his agent felt”… I’m done with college athletics, and specifically Auburn football/basketball. This athletic department is pathetic and I’m tired of wasting both my time and money here; this sh$t isn’t worth it. Hey Mod on duty, Chicken, ect… I’ve been here a long time and this is official notice of my last post. Please feel free to nuke this account. Thanks.

I'm dead serious too. I'm not trying to be funny. I really feel right now though it seems desperate, it is the only way we ever have a real winning program again.

And we really don't have that kind of muscle unless Yella or Harberts or someone like that really wants to go all in, but they have done a ton over the years and its a huge ask. We have to think outside the box and secure the funds and I think making a further mockery of the game while we are at it would just be swell.
