If you think we are gonna suck this year...just wait til 2020. Not even Saban would have success with our o line.

Imagine if Tega had declared. Thank god he’s back. He’s not perfect but my god we’d be fricked without him

I mean, after what have seen with him, did we believe he was just gonna turn into a offensive lineman?

No big loss.

Lanier please go back and watch the games he actually got to play in. He was far from a finished product, but he drove people off the ball better than anyone else on the team. As bad as Horton was last year, there is no way Ashley shouldn't have been given some time there.

re: Calvin Ashley is transferring
I actually think our line will be pretty good this fall. Ive said many times Brahms coming off a broken leg, with two "whithered" legs due to inactivity and throwing him in the line up was destined for failure. Sure the bone may have healed, but it takes months to build back the muscle, and it showed. I think he will show great.

Now as Paw hit on , 2020, good heavens, are we in bad shape. bama and georgia have so many 4 star tackles signed the last couple of years, they may have one or two playing wideout just so they can get them on the field. We on the other hand cant get a midget philipino wrestler to give us a second look. We are in some serious bad shape. We now have three, thats three DL on the offensive line, thats real friking good for recruiting on the DL, lets just screw up the entire team, hell, lets move Nix to OT.

I really need to hear the fevered conspiracy about how Jay Jacobs is responsible for that somehow.

Does this really need explaining?

Jacobs also got a $3 million buyout when he left.

Yes, please do explain how Auburn has the power to veto the decisions of the SEC and all the other member SEC institutions in the matter of SEC football scheduling. It should be entertaining.

I don't remember anyone saying Auburn had that sole power. However, Jay Jacobs was Auburn's representative at these meetings and failed at making an arrangement that was at least net neutral for Auburn and its fans. From what I can tell, Auburn was the only one who really got the short end of the stick out of those meetings.

I'm really not sure how you don't hold responsible the person that was actually responsible for those negotiations.

You seem to not be very familiar with how Auburn has been treated by the SEC and other SEC institutions as a majority over its entire history in the SEC, the vast majority of which was NOT under the leadership of Jay Jacobs.

But ol' JJ is your favorite punching bag, so you keep on bein' you.

Not to derail all of the shitty post in this thread, but was it ever stated why he is leaving? He has a clear path to start here. Carry on with the talk that has nothing to do with this thread.

Word in the ITAT is that Prince Sammons isn't far behind Ashley. Numbers wise it hurts but he is a D2 talent at best so make of it what you will.

To add to your point, Brahms has broken both his legs. He missed most if not all of his senior year with a broken leg. Redshirted his first season due to that break. Then broke his other leg last spring. If he can get his strength back in those legs, I think he will do well in the upcoming seasons.

Prince Sammons

There is a reason 99% of his offers were on the DL. We we're about the only major team to offer him as an OL. Ole Herb Hand wanted him at OL when just about every other major schools wanted no part of him on the OL. He was highly recruited on the DL.

It's now pretty clear why almost no other major schools wanted him on the OL.
