Austin Davis is the new OC per Hokanson
Harsin expected to call plays

We spent all this time, and Harsin will be the play caller

Play-calling is only a piece of being OC

Seems obvious they spent all this time so the best recruiter on staff could be on the road.

So do y'all wanna keep this going as the AU board hot seat/ coaching search thread? Pretty sure they'll be a few position coaching searches here soon.

Yeah, that was a good move by Harsin.

So we're back to what Gus was.
The HC is the main playcaller and the actual OC coordinates and learns from the HC.
So Harsin's calling will now be only his to own.
Should be interesting...especially breaking in a new QB.

Curious how this works out. Gus didn’t do it well.

He ain't gonna call the whirly bird so...

Because Gus' experience was Arkansas private high schools.

Curious how this works out.
The big difference is how successful Harsin's style of offense is now vs how successful Gus's style of offense is now. We have all seen how that's worked out at UCF...

Theplainsmen.com just put up an article saying Davis was hired, 2yr contract, $700k/yr. Now the article is gone??

Not to mention that defenses figured out, for the most part, how to scheme against Gus's offense and rules were put in place to slow it down. We hardly ran a hurry up offense in his last two years.

I wonder how Harsin was able to sell him on leaving the NFL, and come to college, and not get to call plays

The situations really aren't even remotely similar.
