I will take the downvotes I guess…

If we hire Sanders and if it doesn’t work out we will have a hard time cutting ties with him for political reasons. And I think everyone here knows it.

And I’m not sure how Sanders’ gimmickry and bells and whistles would work at Auburn.

So here is his staff and their experience
Tim Brewster
Brett Bartolone
Dennis Thurman
Alan Ricard
Gary Harrell
Andre' Hart
Mike Markuson
Kevin Mathis
Michael Pollock
T.C. Taylor
Jeff Weeks

The above links are to his coaching staff bios. Are they all rock stars? No but there are coaches who have legit experience in the SEC and NFL Like DC of the Bills experience. So before saying some crap about Gimmick etc. Take a real look. And before you point out oh that coach only has HS experience on his staff look back to Caddy and a few others that had less experience before they were coaching in college. He has a dude on his staff that coached all over GA. Wonder about Recruiting that state? He has connections. So do some research and if you don't like him fine but try to negative recruit Deion? seriously and see how that sounds to a recruit? Some will buy it but a whole lot won't..and that dude is an old school coach with tough love. I am pro that. I don't think the others will be that good of a recruiter and before you say lane...yes he has done well with the portal but look at the articles of where the HS coaches in MS talk how bad he is in recruiting.

Did he pull his name? Honestly, I don't know. It was a bizarre exchange and I'm definitely not a fan of the "new normal" if that's what it is.

It's OM.

I seem to remember him doing very well at USC even when he had some serious scholarship reductions.

He hires a good staff for that

No he didn’t pull his name but we have no coach yet, and it’s obvious he’s returning unless some other team decides to offer him NIL money as well.

As far as I’m concerned we need to be fearmongering next year’s depth chart. Deion will help with that in short order. He isn’t perfect, nor God. We have to worry about the future later though.

I’m not saying Deion is the only answer but if you want to dismiss Deion you had better be telling of immediate impact coaches that are safer that want in. We cant afford slow as molasses program builders and I hope to God Cohen knows we can’t afford a Moorhead.

And if they decline, I will be thrilled with Prime.

its a double edged sword. Sure he could flip all the recruits in the world, but if Deion fails, he will undoubtedly talk that shite and no serious recruit will want to go to Auburn

Influence goes both ways

You don't make the decision to hire believing they fail.

Auburn needs to avoid another mediocre hire and shoot for the stars. My 3 would be kiffin, prime, rhule. No stoops or grimes or freezes weird arse. Im not 100% sold on primes coaching ability but i would assume he could bring in a lot of quality recruits and assistant coaches with name alone. Just dont make the same meh hire again.

Yeah it’s a lot riskier now that mediocre coaches like Flores are getting fired and they’re allowed to sue for some reason.

Damn near every coach that has ever lived has been fired or have upgraded from their respective schools.

I think for some people they still see the young Deion. A badass on the field but immature and flamboyant off the field.

That’s just not who he is any longer.

There’s a method to the madness.

He does that for some.

Brings in ministers for some.

What Deion Sanders has done at a HBCU should not garner consideration for a job like Auburn. I’m sorry but sometimes I have to wonder what some of you do for a living. An analogy if you will. Auburn is like a Fortune 500 in college football. Jackson St is like a small town country store. Not even a Dollar General. How many Fortune 500s hire a CEO from that many levels below them?

Don't see the love for that hire. Deion hasn't come close to proving himself as a comletent coach, but fans want him here?

Seriously, wtf?

You want to waste more years on a gimmicky experiment? He's never coached at this level and you want to make him hc at Auburn?

Seems idiotic.
Remember when all the other SEC fans ridiculed Gus and his "high school" offense? The majority of Sanders coaching experience is actually in high school football.

Saban coached under Belichek. Kirby coached under Saban. Pat Dye coached under Bryant...name a successful college coach and look at how he got there. Sanders coached under some guy at a Texas high school.
