Don't see the love for that hire. Deion hasn't come close to proving himself as a comletent coach, but fans want him here?

Seriously, wtf?

You want to waste more years on a gimmicky experiment? He's never coached at this level and you want to make him hc at Auburn?

Seems idiotic.

If you would have asked me the same question a year ago I would have agreed with you.

But this season Seeing how he markets himself, his program, his interviews I've seen, how he addresses his team, how he recruits, etc...

Lane nailed it

“He can flip a roster” and immediately

Chizik was a wtf hire but he loaded up on recruiters and got a top 5 class plus Cam. Deion would hopefully bring other good recruiters and get us back to top 5 recruiting. My only question would be game management.

70% of the games in this conference (both at home and on the road) are won by the team with the superior talent.

That's the draw. He has unpresented recruiting upside. We're talking Top 3 type recruiting class in year #1, and he would immediately flip this roster in the December transfer window. Players would literally leave their team right now to come play for him.

Everything else is predicated on who he would be willing to hire to fill out his coaching staff. And that's the most important question to ask him. His staff at JSU is very good, but I wouldn't want him bringing the whole thing over.

This will be unpopular but I would take Grimes over Deion. Grimes can sell he has put multiple O linemen in the NFL. Look at Bama and UGA both built from the front to back on O and D. It all starts at the line of scrimmage.

No idea...

Lane maybe, with a hell of a good dc hire.

Not Houston Nutt either, don't care for him either.

No there are a lot that don't want him.

By the same token, and this really surprises me, there are some very serious people that want Deion. People that I thought would be the last on earth that would ever want Sanders are his biggest supporters.
It's mind-blowing actually.

I knew someone would say that. Like clockwork.

The fatal flaw with Jimbo is that he refuses to give up play calling and modernizing his offense. In case you missed it, the best teams today are all the ones that score 40+ points every game. The reason they don't win is because he is hamstringing his offense every week.

Texas A&M with someone like Jeff Lebby at OC and running the offense is a Top 5 team.

Deion Sanders doesn't present that fatal flaw because he's already a CEO coach. He is not an OC at heart nor is he a DC at heart. He just hires the Coordinators and they run the show. It's not a valid comparison.

With a loaded roster. I’d take it.

Everyone talks about “high floor/low ceiling” or “medium floor/high ceiling”hires.

Prime is a “no floor/no ceiling” type gamble. He will either succeed beyond our wildest dreams, or flame out in the most spectacular disaster imaginable.

Given my 50+ years experience of AU fandom, I’d place my money on the latter.

I'll take number 1 recruiting classes at Auburn. atm isnt Auburn. Different culture, different expectation, different mindset when we play.
