Why is the HC absolved of any blame when the players suck, especially if it's a trend?

Isn't it his job to have players that don't suck?

This assumes that there isn't enough blame to go around. It is possible for both Gus + the players to fail.

Now the players suck? Lol

Only the Oline...and they played a decent game until the end.

Boobie fumbled at the end of a 40 yard run.

The defensive gameplan is one I still haven't figured out.

We got hosed on a couple calls that were pivotal too.

Defense absolutely played the run poorly. They were out of position several times and missed a ton of tackles. Watch Kevin Steele's presser last night. He took full ownership. He said the backfield motion caused the LBs to be out of position and play too wide or too narrow way too often. There were several runs up the middle by Fitz that we didn't even have a LB in the middle of the field.

Great gameplan by Moo St.

3. Defense getting beaten up for over 300 rushing yards - Kevin Steele's fault

I blame this on the offense for sucking such huge penis

4. Missed call by SEC refs leading to TD at end of first half - not Gus's fault

the game shouldn't have been close enough for this to matter. 9 points.

see above point.

our offensive line actually looked pretty decent by the third series

Meh, they played better I guess, but still got beat soundly. Multiple 3rd and short, and we didn't even get close. Calvin Ashley got beat by Sweat on just about every dropback. I do believe he is one of the best pass rushers in the league though. And it was the first start of his career for CA.

Good play calling and game plan overall by the coaching staff,

Agreed.

I think the defense is starting to get sick of pulling the weight of stopping the offense and scoring points. They need help from the O big time or as many of you said they are going to check out. I'm sure they are frustrated as hell!

How can you be tired of something that's never been said since Gus has been here?

The D basically held there own but cracked under the stress of 42 minutes of ball. MSU had a good game plan and executed it perfectly. They called the same play over and over and simply executed well. Even then if our O has any semblance of a pulse our D never cracks. If we don't have the turnovers then that is a 14 point swing maybe more.

All that being said...this team has major issues and you can tell it from the outside. Every team has unhappy players, but something is broken and Gus has to hold the blame for that...his best quality is his players haven't quit on him. Sad! But we are about to find out if that holds true.
