Up up 215 lbs per Mark Murphy FWIW. May be hard for him to find time on the field though.

He was around 200 to begin with right? I think unless someone gets injured or people transfer out there's nowhere for him to play this year. Boobie, Williams, Shiver, Martin, and Joiner are all going to be ahead of him.. He would be a redshirt from day 1 for me just because of the depth chart.

MAR may be the guy that Gus brings in for the obvious 1 play swing pass to the RB ala Devin Barrett

It's the horse steroids they pump in them for 3-4 years that run them into the ground.

The problem with being Auburn is we are competing against teams who almost routinely put a back in the 1st round, etc...If we were in the Big 12 our recruiting wouldn't be an issue, but in the SEC we continually fall short in a few key areas as compared to our competition. RB is one of them...the use of RB's in my mind is part of the reason.

Yes, we are far from being anywhere close to a RB U.

Alabama currently has 4 RBs in the NFL w/ 2 more drafted(Jacobs/Harris).
Georgia has a slew of RBs in the NFL.
Auburn, I don't think has any in the NFL right now.

So, if you feel a college can develop you for the NFL, its not at Auburn recently.

Just two starters at RB in the NFL really? You thought we had none?

Artis Payne and Corey Grant still in the league as well.

I could maybe let you slide overlooking Peyton Barber (a starter) but how the hell do you not even remember Kerryon? Alter for sure

lol.

You guys are right, I had a brain fart on our RBs. How could i forget KJ and I knew Barber has finally found his way on the Buccaneers.

I don't count CAP, as he never sees the field except for a few carries now, and Grant is more of just a return guy.

Even with my faux pas, I still believe we are far from RBU any more.

That's what Shivers is for. Only Shivers made those plays work because he's better.

More so they are aware of the short career of RBs from taking so many hits so they are trying to be smarter about it.

Wrong, its because Shivers actually ran some other plays. He was not brought in three different games for one play....the swing pass.

The last time he came on the field, the crowd was singin "And we are swingin" and insurance salesmen were throwing their cards onto the field.

And Devan is a perfect reason why a back would not want to come to Auburn.

Shivers had the same run plays and pass plays called for him as Barrett to begin the season and because he was successful at that they expanded his role and gave him slightly more to do. The difference is Barrett went down with even the slightest bit of contact and Shivers runs through it.
