Honest question because I think this is part of the disconnect. What exactly do you mean by this? Winning NCs? Winning the SEC? Winning the west?

Whatever prick. As far as I know I'm the only one in this thread who has posted actual stats to back up my shite.

I mean winning the SEC, and therefore having an opportunity at a national championship. If Hootie can get us to 3 SEC championship games, and Petrino can have us one game away a couple of times, I don't think it's unrealistic to expect to compete for an SEC championship every 3 or 4 years.

Fair enough, the SEC is about to change so much with the two Mississippi schools getting new coaches. Saban is going to eventually retire, still might be awhile. Coach O is probably not long term after some coordinators leave. A&M gets new coach. Auburn appears stable for at the HC position but that changes quick.

Yeah, I read that earlier today. I hope to heck that these guys conduct a very thorough analysis before they pass him up.

We averaged less sacks per game in 2015 and had more total yard per game despite losing J. Williams.
Your shite was pure speculation and butt hurt. My point was based 100% on numbers.

Eh, I still think your bias has been showing in the way that everyone has one. It has nothing to do with you personally but the fact you have been behind Venables for awhile now. Might not believe me but I would have said the same thing if roles were reversed and you had been a major Norvell backer.
Yeah. I have my opinion. I think Venables is our best option. That's my opinion. But I am not claiming it's a frickin fact. Surely you understand the difference.
I hoped to lay out a discussion for legitimate debate over the apparent options we have. Unfortunately most people here are more interested in ridiculing the people they don't agree with rather than lay out an argument to support their side.
I would think you would understand this better than most.

I think that is the one factor that could bring Gus to Arkansas, even if he wins a national championship this year. The little brother syndrome there dictates that everything the head coach does hinges on success against Alabama. They were calling for Malzahn's head earlier in the season, because previous losses were making it look like they had no chance against big brother. He's probably only good for one more loss versus Saban, and that's a hell of a way to live.
If I thought Gus could do what I previously posted without the top 10 classes they've signed, I'd be on the bus. I think a defensive head coach with the right OC can, but what do I know? I thought Bielema was a pretty damn good coach until 2016 happened.

I think that there is the big brother factor working against Gus and I also imagine that the higher ups there are getting tired of Malzahn's bullshite down there too.
Guys, everyone knows what kind of shenanigans Gus gets himself up to behind the scenes. Let's not pretend the guy is this folksy hunky dory guy he pretends to be.
I think he will be on thin ice with his bosses no matter where he's at.

I'll take it if we're battling for the SEC West every couple of years.
Ready for all of this to be over.

You really want to argue that our O line has not been on the decline since 2013? Really? Both of the Allen boys probably have brain damage, but ok.

I'd probably be more likely to agree with you if I truly felt he could compete for championships here. But I have serious doubts that he could. And since I don't believe that he could, I classify him according to what I DO know of him.
He's toxic.
He's toxic.

Not even debating this.
But we're going to find a way to blow this one no matter what.
I'd at least like bragging rights for a year until it all blows up.

We were top 10 in the nation in sacks allowed in 2015.
We had the best offense we've had under Bert in 2015.
We still had a 1000 yard rusher in 2015 while Allen threw for over 3000.
Legit don't know what you're talking about.
2016 you're right. But what is the common denominator with 2016 and 2017?

Sure, I don't think it is unreasonable to make my previous statements as well. I could certainly be wrong but I think you could at least understand why I made those statements.

I agree and don't think I have done that. I guess if you felt I have ridiculed you then I apologize because I normally criticize those that do that.

We were dealing with the talent (or lack thereof) that Pittman brought in, in 2014 and 2015?
Edit to add: Shitty, shitty defense?

No it isn't.
We were top 10 at NOT allowing our QB to get sacked.
Did you watch Arkansas football that year?

Yeah, been watching for 40 years now. Brandon Allen's senior year. Could have been a great year, 10-3, 11-2 year, but we started 1-3. Toledo, Texas Tech, and the yearly aTm bed shitting.
With the 2014 defense, we may have gone 12-1, who knows? We only played 4 ranked teams in 2015.
