Biddy and West are over on 247 basically scolding people for not giving NIL deals to players, saying that everyone is just waiting for someone else to make a move and no one has done anything.
Meanwhile, TexasAgs, a direct equivalent of their site, is literally paying players directly to do exclusive interviews and weekly podcast spots and ads.
Our media is trash. It's really sad they're the best we can get.
If our most sport related businesses aren't even participating why would anyone else?
Super unpopular opinion: Jeff long would have never hired us a decent coach but he would have gotten the money involved with NIL better than hunter.

There's a lot of "we do things the right way at Arkansas" in our DNA, often to our detriment.
Nevermind that there is no "right" or "wrong" way anymore now that NIL and the portal are woven into the fabric of college sports now and blatant tampering is rampant. This is the world in which we live.
We're not the only program trying to make sense of what has happened over the last 2-3 years. Even Dabo has gone full "old man yells at cloud" mode about NIL and the portal, but even Clemson fans grumble about they want him to adapt instead of turning into Andy Rooney and griping about kids these days. Perhaps more than almost any sport, college football will weed out those who don't adapt and evolve.
We’re a long way from where we used to be. The question is what are we going to do to keep up.

This is something nobody really understands. Especially the NCAA. Its been messy so far but once programs start to get up to steam on this its going to turn into a blood bath. The Good Ole Days of the SWC teams buying players is going to look like an episode of My Little Pony compared to the feeding frenzy to come.
I think Hunter will manage to sort things out but we might want to see about hiring someone who has worked in an NFL office as a consultant because they have experience dealing with stuff like this. Ideally we should ask Jerry Jones for recommendations and then make sure we hire anyone other than the folks he likes.

I’m in wait and see mode. We all knew that college football was about to turn into the Wild West with college free agency basically becoming the new normal. This was bound to happen the only question I have is how will Pittman respond? If we go out and get some solid guys from the portal I’ll know Pittman will be able to handle the new rules

Is getting players from the portal or keeping kids from going to the portal a better sign?

All things being equal, I largely prefer the latter.
There’s something to be said for continuity, development, and system familiarity. One of the reasons Cincinnati had the season they had was because they had an insane number of senior contributors.

TexAgs is independent while their site is affiliated with the 247 network, not sure if that makes a difference. I’m sure they’d need to get permission from 247.
Surlyhorns for Texas is doing something similar with their Burnt Ends program too. We definitely need someone to get something started that’s seamless and organized. Once something is set up I think it could get the ball rolling quickly just like the foundation.

Greg Brooks officially announces he’s entering the portal

Our defense is fricked next year lol

Rumors that players don’t care for Coach Carter after a dispute abound. Lost two key players on the defense. Someone has to be held accountable

More might enter. Have to fire Carter if that's true

Luckily we landed a great safety prospect.....oh wait nope he didn't sign.

Yeah. You can’t allow a mutiny to take place and expect things to go on normally. Change needs to happen

This is so fricked up. Between the transfer portal and the NIL, we’re going to get destroyed it seems.

Yeah it’s disappointing
