Then there's another 15 day portal opening in the beginning of April I believe

In that period we can’t get any SEC guys that would be eligible for next year.

Unfortunate his OL had to shite the bed for him this year.
His OL had nothing to do with him completely letting go of the rope once he got paid.

frick KJ. He used us for a payday and half-assed his way through everything once he made it and tanked the offense in the process.

The rumor that he went back to the staff to ask for more money halfway through the season or he would stop playing immediately is wild

I have a hard time believing any adult would put up with this behavior, especially one trying to be a football coach and leader of a group of young men.

If this truly happened then Sam and whatever other powers should've called his bluff. Go ahead and sit and ruin what little value you have left, we'll start someone else that actually wants to play for their teammates and win. Best of luck to ya.

On another topic, who the hell knows if Spring transfers will be eligible immediately or have to wait a year with this stuff going on with the courts. It's looking like the NCAA is leaning in to the whole "immediate eligibility after transferring" TRO the courts just put out. If that ends up being permanent and players can transfer infinite times and have immediate eligibility every time, that will effect the entire college football landscape immediately.

Suddenly that spring portal opening becomes a much bigger deal

The fact that Sam was still playing him after he quit going to class tells you all you need to know.

Said similar during the Enos saga. KJ could have showed up drunk to every practice and game and would have still been QB1 due to all of the investment in him.

I still think KJ isn't even the QB Enos goes with if this is pre-NIL hellscape.

the ignorance of being held hostage for more nil, once a contract is signed... What we believe when the sky is falling is hilarious bro. Not you, but whomever it is.

Folks, it simply doesn't work that way. He plays, or he isn't paid the nil that his contact stipulated, with health clauses of course. The reason he waited so long to hit the Nil was because of the contract date as well.

Now, he did ask for more to stay following this season ending however. Sam and BP talked... BP said basically "Take it or leave it, I can work with what we have either way" and Sam said, "Good luck KJ"!

The thing that baffles me is we paid a guy who can’t throw a crossing, slant, out or swing pass where it needs to be, it has always been 10 ft too high, behind or at their feet.

But he throws such a great deep ball to the receivers that need to adjust to.

It’s not the courts and ncaa. There is a SEC rule you have to enter the first transfer portal window to be eligible next year.

This is for intraconference transfers

So pay an exuberant amount of money for a kid that's quit on his team so he receives his contract money to go 4-8.

These kids do have the University by the balls

Not sure where all this NIL stuff is going. Surely, at some point, there will be a system in place to keep college football from collapsing on itself.

The way it's currently going seems to be non stop chaos. Anarchy, if you will.

I don't mind the players getting paid, but holy shite this is insanity.

Rumors are rumors but, if true, he should've been benched immediately. Call me crazy, but I truly believe we would've had a better season with Jacoby at QB. He would've, at least, gave it his full effort.

He was a player who had the upper hand due to how weak our backup qbs were..and it was proven when he was out for 2 games last year.

That appears to be taken care of now and he was made aware of it. No player should be made that comfortable without results.

Hopefully this is a lesson learned for all positions and be sure it doesn’t happen again.

Eventually this thing will end up with 2 super conferences and a salary cap. Just like the NFL.

He entered in the winter transfer portal so he can go anywhere he wants.

If you enter in the spring portal SEC has a rule you can't go SEC to SEC but I doubt that would stand up in the courts.
