Arkansas has no real "insiders" in the media

True, but was SEC school does that has just one SEC program in state? In Mississippi or Alabama, you have a hated rival, so you get reporters digging up dirt on the opposite side. Even with all that, the Clarion Ledger didn’t right a single story about Ole Miss cheating till Freeze was busted.

I get the hate, but can you really blame them? I’m more irritated by the University sitting on their hands so long.

Its not just the Arkansas media that protects coaches.. You know how many times I was banned on a similar site for saying that Bert can't coach ? Hell they were even banning people for calling the fat arse Bert !!! Even the message boards protect the coaches !!! I gave a huge list of reasons for why Bert was a bad fit and would never win here when he was hired on gayville. My post was removed and I was banned. Its ridiculous how far the University will go to quiet opposition. The censorship is unprecedented. And queers like Lanny are part of the problem. Thank God for this board. I do believe that Morris was a good hire and will right the ship in football. And we can do way better in basketball. Mike needs to go and naming the court after someone who sued the University is borderline retarded.

The hogville censorship, and the paid hog boards are 2nd to none.

I do agree

Thank you. Once I started a thread over there. A mod deleted it and started the exact same thread !! When I asked why, I was given a so-called vacation.... The ego's on those so called moderators over there !! Wilson constantly pissing and moaning about other posters then doing the very same thing within days !!! Its hypocrisy and egomaniacs run amuck !! Not only that but everyone of them claim to have connections. But I've yet to see any of them get anything right. fricking idiots every one of them.

The Kelvin Sampson question. When Sampson left Indiana in disgrace 11 years ago, it was hard to imagine he would ever be a college coach again, much less one who is in high demand. But his success at Houston has elevated his stature considerably, and at 63 he still has plenty of good years left.

The Cougars’ impressive season is a big reason Sampson’s name has been buzzing on the rumor mill, but he also happens to have a very significant connection. The athletic director at Arkansas, Hunter Yurachek, used to be the AD at Houston, though Yurachek’s predecessor, Mack Rhoades, hired Sampson in 2014. Sampson and then-football coach Tom Herman lobbied hard for Yurachek to get the job when Rhoades left for Missouri three years ago. Razorbacks coach Mike Anderson, an assistant for 17 years in Fayetteville under Nolan Richardson, is respected and well-liked, but his team is about to miss the NCAA Tournament for the fifth time in eight seasons.

Just what I can see happening, no insider info, just speculation.

Better than 50% chance we lose tomorrow night. IF SO:

CMA relieved of duties by mid morning Wednesday.
Kelvin Sampson announced by 4 p.m. that day.

If we win, everything gets delayed. We're not going long in the NIT I believe.

We're not announcing anything Sampson before his team plays in the NCAAT. Would be after their season ends.

So Sampson is just going to walk away from his team in the NCAA ? I will buy that Mike could be let go this week. But any announcement on Sampson would likely come after the seasons end for Houston.

Scuttlebutt is that Sampson has agreed to take it if offered. That's just internet chatter though.

well we aren't winning tomorrow night. 15pts a game just walked out the door, and that leaves Chaney to do the heavy lifting.

But Ethan Henderson could come in and finally show us what we've been missing and fulfill the prophecy of Pigfeet and drop a 30/10 double double.

Gafford sitting out is bad news for mike. The whole state of Arkansas gets to see what next year will look like if he sticks around.

I seriously doubt it.

Would mean we're actually serious about winning.

Heck, what is he making at Houston? They just built him a 25MM practice facility as well.

Biddy says no decision had been made but it’s HY’s to make and the board will back him either way. Or at least that’s the way I took it.

Was just thinking what will drive people more crazy, us losing by 30 pts or us winning a close one due to Ethan Henderson having a monster game lol

The internet chatter was that BCG had agreed to take it if offered. This the week Heath was pondering how to keep the legs fresh for the tourney.

Dude, Houston is a solid program and all, but mike is making fricking triple what Sampson is. Houston just don't have the money and if a program with real history and facilities and fan support in the big leagues comes calling, you have to take that job.

Sampson to Arkansas is actually the perfect fit. Keeps Texas recruiting ties and still has Midwest and mid-south contacts going back to Oklahoma and Indiana days.

Plus, they just gave a fricking guy 8 years wehen it was obvious by yr 4 he wasn't going to go anywhere. Hell, you'd actually have to be a fool not to take the Arkansas job the wya it is now.

Yes it lacks talent, but the facilities and support are all there. And the league is still winnable. Outside of Kentucky every couple years, there are no Duke/UNC/Michigan State/Kansas/Syracuse types.

Apparently:

Grant Hall said on the radio today he's been hearing that teammates had to beg Chaney to make the trip to Providence. He said Chaney had made up his mind that he was done along with Gafford.
