What Hog boards are left? Here, Hogville, and what else?

Razorback Talk is still around. I am on there and swing by now and then.

I guess I have been on pretty much all of them, going back to the KARK board.

Thankfully found this site in 2011 after posting on our scout.com forum for 2 or 3 years. What TD offered blew scout out of the water. Quit cold turkey on scout as soon as I found this place and before it went tits up.

Saw a way to future proof my posting here because of potential and haven’t ever seen a reason to seriously post elsewhere.

reddit also has active sports postings, although I don't know how busy the Razorback specific subreddit is. It's more fun to get on the sub of the sport itself. They heavily frown on trolling, though.

Hogville actually isn't bad for the baseball forum. There's always an active and comprehensive game thread going on, and we all know baseball fans don't live with a hose running to their exhaust pipe like football (and sometimes basketball) fans do.

I can't think of any other reason to visit that piece of shite. That board is a shell of its former self from ten years ago, and it's blatantly obvious from the activity. Message boards in general are an outmoded way of communicating, but the ones populated with nothing but boomers and weird sycophants of people who were "in the know" 15 years ago are going away the quickest.

I basically go there exclusively to get post game pressers and coaches searches.

This was inevitable. I left Woopig a few years back because it was turning into a politically driven slap fight in just about every area of the site. Elvishog nailed it in his final message, the political forum morphed into a very scary place (not unlike most political forums these days, but I don't blame him for wanting to dissociate himself from it.)

I spent many years talking Razorback sports and other topics there, had fun when it was a fun place.

I assume Hogvile is making a lot of money with so much ad revenue. Woopig was struggling and I think Elvishog had enough with little help and decided it just wasn't worth the trouble anymore.

I thought Elvis had sold the site to someone and he was no longer involved with it?

I wish someone would post that Otis K-I-R-K-S webroom chat hijack that happened many years ago that was posted on Woopig. It's damn gold.

This is exactly why I left years ago. Feuds from the political forum were ruining the other parts of the board and I finally decided I'd had enough when a couple of people were actively cheering Ruth Bader Ginsberg dying. I know that it's a place where you "wear a cup" and all that, but the political stuff was just getting to be over the top (maybe not quite as bad as it is here, but still shitty and uncivil).

I mostly posted in the beer and music subforums and had always appreciated the dark humor of the place and lack of Hogville-type mouthbreathers, but the other stuff just put me off for good.

Man, I can't possibly do it justice as to how funny that whole shite was.

It goes something like this...Otis Kirk was supposed to have a Q&A webchat session with fans on one of the old Hog message board sites out there. I can't remember which one.

Anyway, some poster logged in with the handle of Otis Kirks with the entire purpose of coming off as the real Otis Kirk, but had absolutely hilarious witty responses to fans' serious questions about recruits.

What made it even funnier, is the chat would log everything. Otis Kirk (the real one) was attempting to login to the chat but it kept saying something to the effect of "Otis Kirk denied access."

I can't even begin to do justice to the hilarious witty responses, and even the mouth breather fans responses to the smart arse answer by Otis K-I-R-K-S.

I remember laughing so hard at the chat log that I had to stop reading to catch my breath so I could finish it up.

Yeah, that never really goes away anywhere on the site, but people seem to be less negative about baseball in general, so it's not as noticeable.
