We are garbage at stopping guards that aren't mediocre. Even in our win against OU, Young still had 28 points. I just don't see the point in supporting a coach with such a blatant weakness in his style that he refuses to adapt to.
How far we go in March depends solely on how long it takes us to get matched up against a team with above average ball handlers.

You want another one? Real Time RPI does give Arkansas a 54.6% chance of winning at home, but a gives TT a 62% chance of winning on a neutral floor.
Have you watched them play? Their top 4 leading scorers are all gaurds that are 6’3, 6’5, 6’5, 6’5, and they defend. They are not a good matchup for Arkansas.
I’m not taking anything away from Arkansas, if they get hot they can play with anybody, but you are underselling Tech badly.

I know exactly what I'm doing.
I do think the ideology of "we just need to be patient with Mike" needs to be severely challenged and will continue to produce counter-arguments as they show themselves. Too many excuses and justification for under-performing. 7 years is a long-arse time in basketball.

Have fun, people don't want to be wrong. Mike could miss the tournament this year and there will be posters justifying it, but the other side isn't much different. Mike could go to the Sweet 16 this year and posters who wanted him gone will move the goal posts to a higher standard and so on. Why imo these types of threads are pointless just like the LR vs NWA debates.

I think the mindset of most people that wouldn't be satisfied with it would be that Mike underperformed with a team that was capable of more. Personally a Sweet 16 would shut me up. That was my floor for this year coming in. I'm not about to go put money on that happening, though. We still have work to do to even get in, which is the sad part.

FTR, I do like Beard a lot. I have a friend who is a Texas Tech grad and was convincing him before the season started they got a really good one.
