Partridge's main recruiting strength is south Florida, an area we basically don't recruit anymore.

He's also now at Pitt, so he obviously has east coast ties/Midwest ties, too, but that doesn't do much for us either.

He's a good coach and a good recruiter, but I think it's obvious from recent hires that Pittman values specific regional recruiting to the mid south or Georgia over everything.

How is it that Steve Caldwell hasn't come up for the position again recently? i feel like it's been a while since we had a good retread back to him

Caldwell was just specific to DE’s though

If he was on staff we would recruit that again.

Thoughts on Jeremy Hawkins?
Eastern Kentucky dline and run game coordinator.

Seems like a young guy with
Lots of south east recruiting ties.

Would prefer an up and comer like him with something to prove over a retread

You need a hire that wants to continue moving up the ladder as they do the best job possible. A retread is content like the chief was and are just collecting a check.

I would as well. I think it helps more with recruiting and gives our CEO coach someone to coach up.

I feel like we're in a pretty good position to hire a good d-line coach.

Pittboss is thought of as good to work for, the program is on the rise, stability...much more favorable than enough places that I suspect he'll go get who he wants more or less.

Twitter and message board chatter all point to this guy

LINK

Definitely an unknown but fits Pittmans hires so far.

He may be great but going cheap on assistants isn't a great long-term plan

agreed, but this dude is a great coach. I have looked up some clinics he spoke at, he is infectious in his presentation, relentless in his pursuit of cruits, and always fired up.

I think he would be a good en!

Sometimes you just see what you like in a guy. I'd be more concerned with inexperience at DC.

I saw a Google news article from Otis last night. I'm sure it's all coming from there.

My concern is partly due to our talent on the d line. We've had two subpar years of d line recruiting and bringing in a guy with no FBS experience seems like a gamble.

Hearing DL Coach has been hired. Announcement won't be made until some coaches get back from the road recruiting. Don't know who it is though.
