If you are willing to travel a little farther out for a burger, Patrick's in Springdale is pretty good.

Art’s Place over Hugo’s for me, all day every day.

Geraldi’s. None are great to me though. I prefer Mondo’s in Tulsa.

Steak?

Best steak I have ever had in NWA was from Catfish Hole. Pat was still alive the last time I had a strip there. Most never believed me, some doubted until they ordered one themselves. His cook was always spot on. I haven’t been by in a couple years, so I’m not sure if the same guy is in the kitchen or not.

I think the food is pretty meh overall in the area. Mama Dean’s closed years ago. Newer people to NWA likely have no clue what I’m talking about, but that hole in the wall was fantastic soul food. Gusano’s has a location everywhere now, but I used to love Guido’s years ago off of Wedington. Gusano’s is overrated to me.

Herman’s on College can be great. You may also go and be very underwhelmed now. It used to not be that way. Flying Burrito and Green Submarine also used to be exceptional. Then they decided to try multiple locations, get cheaper on their ingredients and their product went downhill. Then closed those extra locations and never went back to original ingredients.

Marlo’s Taco Shack. At a minimum I have to stop by and get a cheese dip and some hot sauce.

Lemme edit to add:
Steaks-Hoffbrau
Mexican-Casa Taco
Pizza-Godfathers (cocktail shrimp pizza is the bomb!)
Italian-Mary Maestri’s (in Tontitown)
Burgers-find a Mr. Burger or the Minute Man

Burger? Hugo's

Pizza? "Some have said Pizzaria Ruby" if willing to go to Johnson, go a bit further and get The Odd Soul in Johnson.

Mexican? Hard because quality appears to ebb and flow. I really loved Mojito's but it's gone down hill of late, maybe with the holiday it will be solid and have good service.

Steak? Doe's Eat Place. Best steak in NWA imo.

Italian? Not sure Fayetteville has any options for this.

Guido's is terrible. I get the shits every time I have a pizza from there.

Very true. A quick two hours over in Tulsa and the food scene is much stronger.

Solid. Love it although the service leaves much to be desired.

Catfish Hole,

Don't get the crazed appeal. I like it but don't go out of my way to make a stop.

The Rail in Rogers is a good spot for wings, pizza and pork shanks. Yeyo’s is pretty popular nationally.

I was very excited for the new Central BBQ location in Fayetteville but I’ve been twice and it’s been terrible both times.

I haven't been back to Fayetteville since 2011, but is Pesto's still decent? I liked that place when I went along with Thep Thai, Hugo's, and Geraldi's.

There was also a cheap Mexican joint on 71/MLK (I think) that had burritos as big as your arm. It was a one-location mom and pop joint. I'm thinking it was El Real? They gave you a ton of food and a large order of chips and salsa with every takeout order.
