I’m absolutely shocked that no OC worth a damn wants to come onto a sinking ship with an inept lame duck head coach (who, BTW, just fired his previous OC 8 games into his tenure).

Shocked.

Buster and Marion both have better options this year. Why anybody thought they would come here is beyond me.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Marion end up at Oklahoma. If your coming to the SEC as as an OC Oklahoma and Mississippi St are both much more attractive jobs.

Marion was in the running for HC to replace hoke at SDSU.

We're going to hire Barry Lunney Jr. as OC and Houston Nutt as OL coach. Hire Gus as an offensive analyst when UCF fires him.

The university may collapse on itself from all the helmet love in one place.

It's a great plan by HY. We can get an up and comer at OC that can rely on our head coach's extensive experience as a coordinator.

What??? Sam told us he has contacts banging down the door to come coach for a shite program!

I was told that the whole 'lame duck coach' thing was just a myth!

NIL man!! NIL!

hawgfaninc will enter the thread at any point to tell us we are overreacting and that Pittman is a fine coach that just needs NIL money to win.

He'll also be thrusting his Pittman blow up doll all the while typing at a fever pitch. Or, maybe he'll be thrusting his Pittman blow up doll at a fever pitch while hen pecking the keyboard.

This program is an absolute joke.

I’m afraid my nightmare is coming true and our only realistic options for OC are Kenny Guiton and Jim Chaney.

I saw someone somewhere last night seriously recommend Alex Mortenson for the job. For got all about that guy but apparently he’s the OC this year for UAB.

Pittman hasn’t shown himself to be a consistent fine coach.
Consistently is key and learning on the job isn’t good for consistency.

Improving our offensive line and our NIL wouldn’t suddenly take away Pittman’s faults, but it would inevitably improve our win total. Of course it would help any coach as well, but other coaches would be somewhat of an unknown and would have their own faults.

Where are you getting this from?

I'm still getting Marion is the top choice and Odom gets his consolation prize in Petrino, which is what he initially wanted anyway.

Fill us in if you know something, my people on the hill are mostly close to Muss and the basketball program/donors at this point

One guy in comments says rumblings of Brennan Carroll (Pete's son) who is the Zona OC/OL coach right now.

Arizona was 80th in the country in rushing. Doesn't really seem like the direction Pittman was going for.

Carroll doesn’t even call the plays at Arizona. It’d be as big of a risk as just keeping Guiton.
