I'm not a doomsday fan, but I have one major concern.

How did Hicks get the start?

It was clear to me last week Starkel was the better QB despite that ugly int.

In my opinion, I think that if Starkel had been given more time last week and started tonight we probably win this game. I gave Chad the benefit of the doubt last week on his qb juggling situation, but it's obvious Starkel is the guy and I just don't understand why the guy getting paid big bucks even questions this.

He feels loyal to Ben for bringing him in, and then getting starkel right after. He has known Ben for years. Probably likes the guy, and doesnr want to hurt his fee fees. Hicks should have went to any other team but ours in reality.

Morris is going to start his son over kj also. I can feel it coming.

I think you're right that it's a major concern. Starkel is obviously a lot better. Makes me worry that he won't cut bait with Craddock either because they're friends. We're supposed to be an SEC team but we're running trick plays against Ole Miss? And we can't even run them! That double pass debacle would have been called back anyway because the first one was a forward pass.

Don't worry, he threw Starkel under the bus for the play in the post game presser, he threw it to the left side when it was suppose to go right.

Guess Starkel thought it was an Iron Man instead of a batman on the play card.

Yes Starkel should be the guy but, How bout that OL?
60 yards rushing tonight against the worst DL in the league?

I guess Starkel should have known to study the trick plays first playing for this clown.

This is exactly why I honestly think Hicks will be named the starter again on Monday. And if that's the case, Yurachek better be on the fricking phone fielding offers.

When you're bad (and we are) and struggling to develop (and we are) then why not invest your development time in the more talented players?

Every Pee Wee coach can see that Starkel just has more raw talent. The fact that Hicks knows the offense, but is limited in his talent shouldn't negate putting ALL our development time into Starkel.

I totally get the loyalty to Hicks. Make him a GA and use that schollie. He's certainly not going to play football anywhere after this, so invest in his future and ours....play and develop Starkel and KJ.

I admit I wasn't that impressed with Starkel in the first game but he looked much better last night. He didn't look great, but he showed some signs of potential.

Hicks was... well... Hicks.

Our WRs helped as much they could by dropping a ton of passes that hit them in the hands which was nice of them.

It is curious that every other team that uses this form of offense uses the QB running the ball to spread out the defense a little bit (watch what happens to Auburn the years they don't have a mobile QB) but we don't.

I’m sure Hicks probably looked better in practice where there aren’t live bullets flying. It’s pretty obvious now that Starkel is more of a gamer though. I don’t really blame Chad for giving Hicks a shot but if he plays any more the rest of the season I’ll be pissed.

Lets just say if Morris wants to ride Hicks, Yurachek isn't fricking around. We will go 1-11 with Hicks and Morris will be going back to HS ball

hicks isn't going to win us an sec game. he wasnt competitive vs ole miss and that's as easy as itll get.

starkel seems like he can play they need to quit wasting time with hicks who they never should have taken anyways and just play starkel

Morris can’t get out of his own way. We clearly have a talent per guy that is mistake prone and needed more reps to learn the offense. So rather than name him starter early and get him reps he drags out the qb battle into the second game of the season.

Other than one recruiting class Morris has looked completely in over his head since arriving.

The REAL problem at Arkansas is the decision makers. Who in their right mind hires a 14-22 SMU coach to come to the SEC ? Norvell was having his way against Morris and wanted the job. I don't care if he's sending out dick pics or whatever the accusations were. Or if he's diddling the volleyball team. He's not a freaking minister, he's a football coach !! Until someone with a pair steps up and cleans house on the hill its just going to continue to be more of the same. shite show year after year. Its college football. We need to get rid of the Rick Schaefers of the world and bring in the Bobby Petrino types. Until we do this program is going to continue to see new lows. Morris needs to go back to high school where his sophomoric moronic play calling belongs.

If Norvell is such a hot commodity why is he still at Memphis? Are other schools just stupid too?

we all, who use common sense, know the answer... For some reason, he is toxic to move up. Too much baggage, sooner or later somebody will bite.

Will it bite them on the butt or will it work out?

He's well overhyped by this board. Yeah he's good but two of his three years were 8 win seasons with NFL talent in a bad conference

Better question is how was Starkel not named the starter coming out of fall camp. If Starkel was named QB and we go all out against PSU (not vanilla) we may be 2-0.

It’s not even a close call who the better QB is.

Either inept or playing nice guy. Either will get you fired.

Short answer ? Yes. Tenn passed on him too. Hows that working out for them ? I have no idea what his baggage is, what I do know is that Arkansas possibly cost itself a legit shot at a naty trying to be ORU. And I'm tired of that schtick. College football is dirty business. Players are paid thousands behind the scenes. Most of the guys playing can't even speak english, much less read and write. Yet somehow they are getting degrees. Anyone who thinks that Universities are these pillars of moral goodness or whatever is just as naive, ugly and stupid as Rick Schaefer.

You just named Tennessee, how many teams have hired coaches in the last 2 years? Ole Miss is an hour away, MSU not much farther. Both passed him over, why? He was a successful OC at Arizona State and they hired Herm fricking Edwards over him for crying out loud.
