Quality thread #69

quote:

The Razorback football team will play a home game against the Hilltoppers on Nov. 9, 2019, while the men’s basketball team will host Western Kentucky during the 2018-19 season at a date to be announced later, followed by a trip to Bowling Green, Kentucky, during the 2019-20 campaign.

Has upset all over it.

Will it really be an upset with the way Stansbury recruits?

Yes.

No sec team should lose to a Sunbelt team.

We will be very young. It really wouldn't be that much of an upset.

That’s why Arkansas should stop being scared to play Arkansas State, even if they’ve had the better program the last 5+ years

Agreed. Playing Arkansas State would be an excuse for an easy OoC game we should win 19/20 times. We could also play in WMS for the central crowd and not waste an actual game there.

There have been a couple (or maybe even three) years not too far in the past that I wouldn't have doubted that ASU would have won.

If we had played ASU every year during Bert's tenure we'd probably have a losing record. That's not even being snarky that's just real.

We went from a home and home with Michigan to this?

Guess this is what you get with a AAC AD.

Don’t be a dumbass.

A marquee name for 2018 and 2019 went bust when Michigan backed out. Teams schedule many years in advance.

This is similar to the Colorado State series we are currently in for both football and basketball. Only difference is going on the road to CSU's new football stadium.

Historically competitive G5 program and Stansbury since going to WKU has wanted to get Arkansas on the schedule.

2018
Eastern Illinois - September 1
@Colorado State - September 8
North Texas - September 15
Tulsa - October 20

2019
Portland State - August 31
Colorado State - September 14
San Jose State - September 21
Western Kentucky - November 9

Guess we should have kept Long, still had Bert as a coach, and scheduled a road game against a non P5 in lieu of Western Kentucky

We settled for this because we lost the Michigan game and had to schedule on short notice. A&M had the same problem and got criticized for their shite OOC schedule for years when they moved to the SEC because their P5 OOC game (us) became a conference game.

Guess Arkansas couldn't snag one of the opening weekend neutral site games one of the years. :/

On the bright side, all of our OOC opponents are of the caliber our coach is used to facing up against.

We're basically Mizzou West now.

Use the Michigan game as an excuse all yall want. This is pretty much in our wheelhouse of traditional scheduling

How is it an excuse when it’s literally what happened?

That’s a step up from where Arkansas has been under Bert

You forgot the SEC regular season schedule.

I guess this will get us into some shitty bowl game, or it would seem.

It's a typical Arkansas opponent. Weak conference, shite team, not an interesting match up. We schedule these every year. Look at all of our OOC planned over the next 10 years.

Did Michigan make us take a shite match up in all those slots too? Did they make us schedule Coastal Carolina? How about Alcorn State? Or did they make us schedule UTEP in 2015?
