I figure Vince Lombardi himself couldn't have gotten this team bowl eligible.

There are certainly coaching questions. To not have the kids bought in IS his fault, no matter how the kids got there. If they aren't bought in...get them outa there. Letting them stay and sour the pot is a coaching problem. WWSD? What would Saban Do?

That said...recruiting is better...although we're still 8th or 9th in the SEC. Great to be possible top 15 nationally....not so great to be 8th in the SEC. But still...better...and inroads back into Texas where we must be.

I've gotten so apathetic...didn't attend a single game in person this year. If we don't win 6-7 next year, it'll be my last year as a donor and season ticket guy. Its just too easy to buy tickets if I want them...and when they suck this bad I usually don't.

So I'm still willing to see what we look like in the 2020-21 season, because I don't see us being in the conversation until then. Kelly Bryant might make some difference if he shows up, but I'd question his intelligence if he opts to play behind this O-Line.

People make bad hires in business all the time. They realize it quickly and pull the plug quickly. Happens often.

Never happens in college football for what reason?

Our GOBN made a bad hire. Simple as that.

Jury is still out on Morris.
It's extremely obvious that we don't have the parts he needs to execute his offense. Nor the players to be a good defense.

Despite all of that, we were competitive for some stretches in games. Could have, should have had at least a couple more wins, maybe three. We were in position to.

That said, I believed in Bielema for the first 3 years. I could see that he had a plan. I liked the idea of 'real American football.' We saw glimpses of what he wanted to do and it appeared for a while that things were trending towards success at it. Then recruiting caught up with him.

For me, it's too early to declare Morris a failure. I think we will start to see progress next year after an excellent (on paper, for us) recruiting class. There will be a lot of new faces on the field, and a lot of faces no longer around. We will probably take some lumps because of youth next year, but we should see a clearer picture of where we are headed.

I'm not 100% bought in on Morris either and I still wish we had gone another route with the hire but he is what we are stuck with.

However, to blame him for this in his first year is insane. Yes, the players BB recruited looked good on paper but that became moot once they got on campus. The adopted the mentality of their coach. Fat, Lazy, Slow and a quitters mentality. It is not CCM fault that most of the upperclassmen refused buy in the whatever coach was hired because they lost their buddy as HC. There isnt a coach in the country that could have come in and been successful this year.
Will CCM succeed I have no idea but he has no talent to work with right now until he gets his guys in solely because BB ruined whatever talent he brought in with the atmosphere he created.

I think you are already seeing the purge. The timing of it just couldn't happen until season end.

Fire the man! He couldn't convince a bunch of loser, selfish players to not be loser, selfish players and couldn't' miraculously replace those players with walkons who were somehow significantly better.

I think he isnt playing back ups because he plans to purge them as well. Might as well save them a RS to transfer if he can.

at good companies yes. they also set goals and time frames to achieve those goals. if the goals become impossible to achieve then you start to look at why and make that decision then. we havent hit any kind of reasonable time frame for achievement or meeting goals so far. thus I dont know if I'd fire anyone yet.
