and they were 10-3 last year

it just makes me choke again on Rutgers and dumbshit Jeff Long's scheduling

I don't blame anyone on this BYU thing. I love Hunter. It just is what it is.

Look at it this way. We either get another fun, competitive game on that Saturday or we get a rent a win that’s not worth more than one hour of your time.

So what if we lose?

now allow me to contradict my own thread, hopefully thankfully...

BYU butters it's bread on kids who are decent high school football players, who then do 2 year Mormon missions before becoming BYU players. So they're 20 years old as true freshmen and often 24 years old or older as seniors. Also basically none of them go pro early, if at all.

So yes, they're more experienced and mature emotionally, age-wise, etc, but they're not SEC level talented players.

BYU is a frustrating team because you would think that any SEC team would beat them without having some difficulty. But they have lost and beaten some SEC teams.

They would get destroyed by the talent of Bama, Georgia or LSU. But Arkansas doesn't have that talent yet to completely overwhelm them not yet at the moment. I don't like this game because folks keeping looking at the bowl loss that BYU had and proclaim them as not very good. That was a unmotivated BYU team and you aren't going to get that same motivation against Arkansas. I don't like this game and have it as a loss.

The altitude and the travel and the game being eight in the Mosher of our SEC meatgrinder is going to be the biggest reason this game will hurt so bad.

That... And Jeff fricking Long scheduling games that the likes of Alabama wouldnt even touch.

I don't think we win this game, but things obviosly change. Playing BYU in Provo is just moronic when you're in the SEC west.

Already marked it as a loss. They will be motivated to prove themselves against an SEC team

If Bert or Nutt was our coach I would pencil this in as a loss no matter our talent level. I think Pittman will have our guys ready. A possible loss but not even in the top 5 games we should be worried about IMO.

BYU could potentially be 2-4 heading into our game. Their schedule is no cake walk.

I was really worried about this game as well so I checked byu’s schedule. They played notre dame the week before us. So we may not be circled on the calendar as much as we think and they could be a little beat up as well

BYU has won a ton of games with 2 schedules ranked in toughness of #50-60 this year they have the 15th toughest schedule. THIS TEAM WILL LOSE MULTIPLE TIMES BEFORE PLAYING US, AND WILL NOT BE SKY HIGH COMING IN.

I was super worried about this game until I looked into all of this. Hogs take care of bidness that day.

the one thing that gives me pause is we have had a game 6 slump the last 2 years because we get beat up. it's plausible we have the depth now though to compete.

And BYU plays Baylor, Oregon, Wagon Wheel (Last game in the rivalry for the next decade probably, and Norte Dame 4 of 5 before us.

Those Mormon boys gonna be worn out by the time they get to us.
