it’s gotten to where every athletic black kid in Little Rock only wants to hoop. I’m sure there’s some really good talent walking the halls in Little Rock schools.

This. Basketball is king here. It's not that there isn't talent, you just cant get them on the football field.

Isn't Central's basketball team awful though? I know it was when I was there

Why doesn't the Arkansas staff recruit the Texarkana area? There are several 4 and 5 star players down there every year. Texas High and Pleasant Grove are power house programs in Texas.

Central just hasn't hired good coaches in either sport. Which is a shame really. We were dominant in both when I walked the halls and it has by far the most potential of the LR high schools. I'm sure there are other underlying reasons for the decline though. Kinda excited about Kevin Williams being the new DC.

if we could get a pipeline to PG we’d have a 4 and 5 star every 3 years I agree

Kudos to Pittman. He’s got the top two players instate in the next class already locked up 4 months before this class is even wrapped up.

There ought to be 2 or 3 SEC level players out of Little Rock every year.
Bussing (John Walker) killed a lot of programs.
No continuity in systems, no consistent feeder programs.
The athletes are there, they just aren't in the programs and the ones that are haven't been consistently trained from pee wee up.

UALR needs to start a football program and join the funbelt. Watch how quickly football takes off here when there are 85 extra scholarships available. It's stupid they don't have one with a decent stadium right down the street and plenty of now unused land right next to it for facilities and other sports.

It made no sense with the Hogs playing here but now that those games are ending (a big reason football has died off here but that's a discussion for another thread) it needs to happen.

This argument has gotten plenty played out. There’s been 16 Central Arkansas kids sign P5 offers the last 4 years. News flash, parents aren’t sending there kids to Central/Hall/Fair anymore. Robinson, Bryant, NLR, Conway, PA, LRCA, Parkview all have great programs and are putting prospects out. Central Arkansas is dominating the high school scene.

On another note, Central just played in the state championship for basketball. They hired arguably the best coach in the state a few years back.

One would think Cabot, arguably the biggest school in Arkansas, would pump out some big arse country boy lineman or linebackers every once in awhile, but we just don’t. It’s underwhelming.

They do play football but are poorly coached and underdeveloped. The same with Southeast Arkansas.

Just like Jefferson out of Mississippi. Very raw with no coaching but has very good upside. Arkansas and Mississippi are terrible at developing players.

Southeast Arkansas use put out some decent prospects but in the early 2000s, they consolidated a lot of the smaller high schools which killed community support.

Looks familiar. I won’t say it but it rhymes with Sharon McPadden
