I guess Henry is just made of glass. Damn shame, wasn't he higher rated than Hunter out of HS?

Sucks for the kid. But honestly, what do you do now with his scholarship. Saban and most other programs would pull it, but I'm sure Pittman will keep him on. It's just not a good indication when you've had two major knee injuries in your last 2 years of HS.

99% sure this was because of how good his brother was. Hayden just never had the same physical gifts hunter and Hudson had that’s why he didn’t get the high rating

Wasn’t Hudson suspended for the Rice game because of a 2nd half targeting call against Bama last year? Thought I remember hearing that somewhere.

We have to think we can get a few nice kids looking at OK St or TCU now. Even Mizzou, Ole Miss, etc etc. Man last night was fun.

S Anthony Brown commits.

quote:

Milan (Tenn.) three-star athlete Anthony Brown has committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks. Brown, 6-0, 185, went public with his decision at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday to become the Hogs’ 18th verbal commitment for the Class of 2022.

Brown chose Arkansas over other finalists in Indiana, Illinois and Tennessee. He held other offers from Alabama, Auburn, Miami, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Oregon, Utah, Virginia, Wisconsin and many others.

Brown, who is being recruited to play the safety position currently manned by All-American Jalen Catalon, moves the Razorbacks’ class to No. 21 in the nation and No. 7 in the SEC.

The Detroit (Mich.) native who moved to Tennessee in 2017 has owned an offer from Arkansas since January 3, 2021. He made an official visit in Fayetteville on the weekend of June 4, then returned one week later as an unofficial visitor when his good friend Jaylen Lewis, a fellow Arkansas defensive back commitment from Brownsville (Tenn.) Haywood, was enjoying his official visit on the Hill.

Brown was back on campus again last Saturday when the Razorbacks rolled then-No. 15 Texas, 40-21. He had initially planned to announce his commitment on July 29 but instead chose to wait until his mother’s birthday on September 14.

According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Brown is the No. 39 safety in the nation and the No. 17 overall prospect in the state of Tennessee for the Class of 2022. He is rated higher according to 247Sports, which has him pegged as the No. 33 safety in the land and the No. 12 player in Tennessee.

247Sports national recruiting analyst Gabe Brooks offered a detailed breakdown of Brown as a player:

“Owns the requisite height and frame to project as a good-sized safety at the next level," Brooks wrote. "Lean, athletic build with room to add more mass. Varied on-field experience with three-phase playmaking ability. Could get on the field early as a special teams demon, which he's shown on his high school's coverage units. Snaps at running back, receiver, wildcat QB, and safety. Plus athlete on the field who flashes impressive closing speed in pursuit. That speed also manifests at the top end on offense.

“Field speed looks faster than verified combine data. Flashes encouraging pass-catching instincts when the ball is in the air and in contested situations. Strong offensive production as a junior (1,500-plus total offense, 25 TD). Above average length that should help in catch-point disruption on defense. Plays hard and acts as a tone setter at safety. Flies downhill in run support. Big hitter with impact arriving power. Occasionally sacrifices technique in those situations. Sometimes gears down when redirecting. Great pursuit range but can more consistently take the best angle. Can enhance fluidity to maximize man coverage potential. High-floor safety prospect with tools and play style that translate to various personnel packages as a walk-down box safety or a more traditional safety role. Projects to the high-major level. Long-term ceiling could be beyond college.”

With 18 commitments now in the boat, we believe the Razorbacks now have one spot left to fill for the Class of 2022 and any additional spots will be used for transfers.

The NCAA Division I Football Oversight Committee is set to expand the 25-man signing limit to a maximum of 32, according to a report from Sports Illustrated's Ross Dellenger on Tuesday.

Raising the limit is viewed as a necessary counterbalance to the 1-time transfer waiver, where players can leave and play immediately and possibly leave their old programs in a lurch.

Until now, programs have been limited to 25 initial counters. Once approved, coaches could replace each out-bound transfer with an in-bound transfer, up to seven players.

One of the key drivers for political action here was the industry's fear that fewer and fewer players would be signed directly out of high school.

The way the system is currently constructed, coaches are incentivized to take transfers over a high school recruit, given the transfer is older and more likely to contribute immediately, has already adjusted to college life and, crucially, is more "locked in" to your program since he will have already used his waiver to join your program.

This waiver would not pit high school players against transfers for scholarship offers.

Do we even have offers to anyone in the LR Metro?

Absurd how little talent that place puts out these days.

NLR and PA are the only schools that are even the least bit focused on football here. Less so for PA now that Kelly is gone. Feels like the LR high schools will have random waves of talent that come through every couple of years (see Parkview) but there doesn't seem to be a big focus on athletics.

Did Anthony Lucas keep the same philosophy as Kelley with the no punt, onside kick thing?

Supposedly. I haven't caught a game yet this year though so I can't say for sure.

What happened to Central?

There should randomly be at least a few D1 players out of there each year by default right?

Crazy that NWA is now actually pumping out some talent.

Things have changed so much since my days in the late 2000s
