then sign a #6-8 class in the SEC next year

That would be a huge leap from the normal 10-12 range.

Will be interesting to see where we fall to after today. We've already dropped two spots just this morning. If you go by average we're around 30-40 right now.

I'm laughing at people trying to spin this MAC caliber recruiting class into a positive.

It would've been really hard for Chad & company to come in here and turn this class around on such short notice.

We should be used to it since its been the norm since Petrino.

Other than Collins and Henry, did we have any legit high caliber SEC players over the last 5 years?

If we did, they weren't playing.

I know Agim is good but he's been lost in our shitty schemes.

No, low G5 caliber recruiting classes have not been the norm. Classes ranked 25th to 35th nationally while ranking around 10th in the SEC have been, and they've been the norm since Rivals and other sites started ranking recruiting.

It is not going to be a great class but we are going to be moving up a ton. We only have 10 commits. So silly to judge it currently.

Look at the quality rankings not quantity.

Many services dock for unfilled spots under 20 in algorithm.

Another VERY important thing to keep in mind, we are over the 85 limit and that is even with Hedlund leaving as a grad transfer.

It would take a lot of transferring or not renewing scholarships to reach even 16-18 total in this class.

Not sure why that is so confusing. Look at the schools around us. Most have more than us committed.

i don't get the freak out... I understand the conversation though.

Our average is ok, especially with how little time CCM has had here thus far. If he utilizes the talent already on hand correctly, we will see improvement immediately on the field. And recruiting will get better... How can it not, these guys are red bull on nitric fuel..

The roster management is a bigger mess than this pieced together recruiting class will be.

APR doesn’t allow widespread cuts either so it gets tricky to make room.

I saw that comment by Morris just now. Seems like he was surprised by the roster when he finally got to sit down and watch film.

Well film doesn’t lie and I bet it was eye opening to him.

He did sound positive with some of the younger players.

The walkons on scholarship I wonder if they are some of the first ones to move on.

Wish we had a list of graduates or soon to be so we could keep track of potential grad transfers.

I am guessing it was not a good surprise.

Pig Trail Nation @PigTrailNation

Morris: very intrigued. A lot of young players that played on both sides of the ball last year. Overall team speed I was surprised by a couple of areas. We are going to do things different as far as conditioning approach.

He then went on to say something about conditioning them to be faster from point a to point b.
