Goodman is a hack, but it's widely reported everywhere that the big teams recruiting him completely backed out over the last week or two. Kid just has too many issues. He is the very definition of high risk high reward. Tons of risk but also plenty of talent.

Leave it to Arkansas to find a low basketball IQ and work ethic euro.

Didn’t know those existed.

You may be right, but he does have talent and ability and runs the floor.
Our other options are slim. I say (like I have any) 'take a chance'.

Since we don't have many options left, it would make sense to sign him and see what we can get from him next season.

Eh, at this point, these teams are fully aware of what they're getting. If they've been backing off the last couple weeks, it's because Cal's check cleared.

Miika isn’t a backup plan FWIW. Cal has been recruiting him for a long time

Did he kill a guy last Tuesday or something? Because it happens.

No, just stating what everyone around the basketball world has said about this kid for the last week or two. We'll take him and hope he doesn't wreck the team and Cal can teach him and get his head on straight. Worst case he leaves the team in a fit of rage late in the season amid adversity. Call a spade a spade.

I'm not debating that he's a head case, he's been considered a risk for a while. But he's been heavily recruited by colleges since...what, 2024? Unless he had a crash out of unbelievable proportions recently (which is possible), the only thing that's changed in the last 2 weeks is that he's figured out where he's going to play.

Personality wise, he'll be fine. I like a player with an edge tbh.

He wasn't coming to Arkansas until North Carolina said no thanks. I hope their loss is our gain.

Illinois, UNC and Duke all backed off him for a reason though. Maybe they just didn't want to take him on and Cal has confidence he can do it or we're just far more desperate for a big than those teams.

Another Pringle project, but maybe Cal can teach him.

I wouldn't say Pringle, more like Brazile with a higher ceiling.

They “backed” off because he’s always been a Hog lock if he chose to play college ball. And UNC definitely didn’t back off they tried hard to sway him after hiring Martin away.
